Then when needed, I pull out the gray section of the bag and effectively double the air capacity for pumping up the pad. All it takes is 4 bags of air to fill the pad full. This battery operated air pump works like it should. It is easy to use and will blow up any inflatable easily. It does use the batteries quite a bit but it is so much easier than hand pumping. I 've used it about 10 times filling up a queen size bed and the batteries have just started to die a bit. That is okay in my opinion. It was n't that expensive either. I let the air out of a tire to test the pump and I was able to get it up to 90 psi without much effort and could have gone further if I chose to.
