Easy to pack, lightweight rain jacket. Does n't keep rain completely out when it's downpouring, but that is to be expected with a UL jacket. Otherwise does great in light rain and soggy conditions.

Backpacking requires the forethought to bring only what you need as weight becomes a significant factor with extended trips. This Helium jacket is a game changer when it comes to weather protection. I bought this a couple years ago and has saved me more times than I can count. It packs down super small and is incredibly breathable which is needed for us down in Alabama where it can still be very hot while raining. Since buying this I ca n't tell you how many times I have recommended this product to customers. Truly my favorite jacket.

No matter the price or claim all waterproof jackets will eventually wet out. However, why carry something heavy and wet when you can have a helium. These keep rain out pretty good, for the weight conscious, you wo n't get better. Probably the best ultralight rain jacket on the market.

i use the Helium Rain Jacket in addition to a 700 fill goosedown esp. when i ride out into wilderness. while it will not protect against sheer downpours, it will if you 're under a tree! plus, in conjunction with the puffer i stay super warm and dry while packing small and light. imperative on a horse!
