Ca n't go wrong with Lamiglas. This rod performed better than expected for me. First I thought I might not like it as it is not on their expensive line but I was surprised when I used it. I used this for a week long fishing trip and it exceeded expectations. It was durable and versatile in use from walleye, northern, bass and even lake trout fishing with a slab! It was strong yet sensitive enough where I could feel the difference between bottom and bite and even when my spinners were spinning. Handle was also a perfect fit and size. It was hard finding a 7ft heavy pole spinning in a brand you trust. ALSO their packaging and shipping was too notch. As an avid angler ordering poles online can be a NIGHTMARE but I was soo excited to see that they shipped it appropriately.

I have all four of the Dobyns Kaden Series spinning rods( xtra L, L, ML, M). This review is for the 7 ’ “ extra light ” trout/panfish model. Prior to purchase, I assumed “ extra light ” was somewhere between ultra light and light powered, based on the recommended line and lure weight for this rod compared to other Dobyns rods in their other series. I was a little concerned it would be too whippy, as many 7 ’ ultra lights can be. I would say that the Kaden series spinning rods, in general, have a bit more backbone than your typical spinning rods and the “ extra light ” is no exception. This rod is not a noodle, It has a nice fast tapered tip that will easily detect subtle hits from small sunfish and trout, and finesse fishing for bass. The rod will easily handle most bass, unless you are fishing in heavy vegetation. The unique action and power of this rod make this an excellent multi species rod. The rod has a high quality, comfortable, split cork grip with hook keeper below the handle. The rod blank is a clean, matte black finish and has 10 quality guides. The rod is a true fast action taper and it ’s power exceeds the “ extra light ” rating it ’s given. I ’ d recommend this rod to a friend and would purchase again myself. Given that I have all four of the Dobyns Kaden spinning rods, but had to only keep two of them, I ’ d probably pick the “ extra light ”( trout/panfish) and the M power and be able to catch just about anything I fish for.
5
Catch and Release
The Dobyns Kaden Light Power, Fast Action rod has has a quick taper at the tip and more backbone than typical `` light power '' rods making it a great choice for large panfish, trout, and bass when throwing 1/8- 3/8 oz. lures. The rod is very sensitive and capable of detecting subtle bites and underwater structure. The rod quality and finish are excellent. The rod blank is finished with Sea Guide's XO guides, Fuji reel seat, contoured split grip cork handle, and the blank is a clean black matte finish that easily matches all reel colors.

The 5' 6 '' UL Rod is perfect for trout fishing ... This is a great lightweight pack rod. ... I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend this rod to anyone looking for a quality ultra light fast action

I do a lot of trout fishing in rivers and small ponds. Most fish are under two pounds. This is a great lightweight pack rod. It comes in a protective case that I strap to the outside of my backpack. It weighs less than 22onces and is 22. 5 inches long. I use a Plueger President searies with 4 pound test. This is a fast action rod with no sacrifices for it being a 4 section rod. I thought I would only use it for backpacking. It is now my goto rod. I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend this rod to anyone looking for a quality ultra light fast action rod.

Kayak Panfisher
I ’ ve owned this rod for about a year now and can whole heartedly sing it praises. I ’ m a AVID kayak pan fisherman. I ’ ve had this rod back in the skinny water catching bluegill, to white bass in rivers all the way to brackish gulf water catching flounder to test its metal. It passed all with flying colors. Section held together very well, eyelets are ceramic and kept the 10lb braid in good shape. Plenty of backbone for finessing bigger fish, just use a quality reel with good drag. My only suggestion for St Croix….. add an extra piece and make it 8 ’. This would be a perfect travel fresh water rod.

Smallmouth630
I ’ m a St croix guy and this rod is TOUGH! The mojo series is light weight and durable. Very sensitive and comfortable to hold. The 7 ” medium is a great rod for plastics and wacky rigs. A great all purpose rod in my opinion. The split grip helps with casting while keeping it short and low profile for kayak guys.( I like it for the weight reduction). 10/10 rod. Will continue to add more mojo to my collection.

Rod handles come in various types, including split and full grips, each designed to provide different levels of comfort and control. Split handles often allow for a lighter overall rod weight, while full grips can offer better stability and support during casting. The choice of handle type can significantly affect your fishing experience, depending on your preferred fishing style.
Rod handles are typically made from materials such as cork, EVA foam, and rubber. Cork is favored for its lightweight and comfortable grip, while EVA foam provides durability and resistance to wear. Rubber handles can offer enhanced grip in wet conditions, making them suitable for various fishing environments.
The design and material of a rod handle can greatly influence casting performance by affecting grip comfort and control. A well-designed handle allows for better leverage and reduces fatigue during long fishing sessions. Additionally, the handle's length and shape can impact the angler's ability to make precise casts.
Yes, certain rod handles are better suited for specific fishing techniques. For example, techniques that require quick, precise movements may benefit from shorter, more responsive handles, while techniques that involve longer casts might require longer handles for better leverage. Understanding the fishing technique can help you choose the right handle for optimal performance.
When selecting a rod handle, consider factors such as comfort, grip material, and the type of fishing you plan to do. A comfortable grip can enhance your fishing experience, especially during extended use. Additionally, the handle's design should complement your fishing style, whether it involves casting, trolling, or jigging.
The handle design can significantly impact the overall durability of a fishing rod by influencing how well it withstands wear and tear. High-quality materials and construction techniques can enhance the rod's longevity, especially in challenging fishing environments. A well-designed handle can also help absorb shock and reduce stress on the rod during use.
