They have a traction tread on the sole- not a smooth soft- sole, and they “ lean ” a little forward, making a walk across the warehouse or the parking lot a welcome activity! Other work boots I have owned which had lugs, used lesser quality ones, and occasionally they would bend out of proper alignment and requre bending back. One time I had a lug that came out of the leather in which it was anchored. I can see that these Carhartt lugs are not going to let me down.

I have had these boots for a week and used them at work everyday and have zero complaints as they are very comfortable and warm. my only complaint would be with the shipping company Purolator, they did n't deliver on time and miss routed the package then tried listing a weather delay between Edmonton and Yellowknife as another issue. when asked about the delay they could n't tell anything and there was nothing about weather delays on the Weather Network or Alberta511 Hwy info service.

Great fit, easy on and off but stays put while moving around, these are definitely stretch fit, the laces seem to be decorative in my opinion. Materials seem durable so far, I especially appreciate the extra protection around the `` accidentally kicked a pallet corner '' area. The soles feel like I 'm standing on a fatigue mat even when I 'm not. If I had to complain the outer side of the arch support is very high which has been painful for the first hundred hours or so of wear but it's getting better as it collapses. Overall a much lighter and comfortable alternative to the traditional steel toed work boot.

I just purchased these sneakers and I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable these shoes are. I have never had any safety toe shoe or boot be this comfortable. I also like the fact that you can slip them on and off without having to tie and untie them every time, which is super convenient for the application for where I am wearing them. When I first got them out of the box they felt heavy but when they are on your feet they are not heavy at all but like wearing regular sneakers with the benefit of the safety toe. I have fairly narrow feet and these fit perfectly and are very comfortable. You ca n't even tell they have a steel toe. My only complaint is the top lace grommet. It has a different type of hook so it is a little difficult to get the lace in it when it is pulled out. I still rate this as Excellent though.

I received my boots 6- weeks ago and have worn them a dozen times building mountain bike trails in Northern California. The boots are very comfortable, have great traction and warm in cool weather. What I like best about the boots is that I am sure footed when working on steep grades, in mud, and in thick bushes. Plus having to hike in to get to a trail section may be over a mile which is no problem with these boots, just a joy splashing through rivers, muck, you name it.

I bought factory 2nds from a buddy and I could n't tell you the difference between those and the 1st. A little cleaning and conditioning and it looked brand spanking new. I got these in a 7D. For some odd reason, they fit very similar to my pair of Beckmans which are a 7. 5D. Both are a touch loose at the toes. Maybe I 'm a 6. 5 in Redwings. No problem though, I threw in a pair of insoles for my Iron Rangers and they fit like a glove now. If you have a store near you, I highly suggest going in person to get sized. The leather is of fantastic quality. Great overall look and feel. I highly recommend this iconic boot! My next purchase are the Roughnecks.

[ Like everything danner makes it is great leather. I rock a 13 wide in sneakers and got a 12 wide for this boot. It fit snug at first especially around the top arch of the foot. After about two weeks of breakin they are comfortable but tight enough to provide appropriate traction. I think after a couple months of molding they will be on the top for comfortability.

I 've been buying these boots to wear for my landscaping business for as long as I can remember.( over 15 years?) They are comfortable after a day of brake in. I apply one coat of weather seal when I buy them. I wear them over 12 hours a day and they last about 6 to 8 months. I like that they are n't steel toes, and that the tread on the sole does n't disturb the soil very much, but has good traction. I like to buy two at a time so I can alternate wearing them. I have bought them for my helpers too.

[ I bought these boots in a EE width and my feet have loved me for it! Great fit, great materials, extremely comfortable out of the box, and an American made boot- to boot. The question you should ask yourself is why you shouldn ’ t buy the Bull Run. The price comes in well under classic red wing and Chippewa boots and these are way more comfortable in my humble opinion. The sizing is fairly true to size with medium to thicker socks but I ’ d dize down 1/2 if wearing thin socks. I ’ m very stoked on these boots!

Break in is brutal because the leather is tough and stiff but that is what you need for work boots. Carry some band aids for blisters your first week. When I saw these boots on line shopping I couldn ’ t wait to order them. I used to wear another brand of boot that looked a lot like these, but they stopped making them. Not happy. Love these boots, probably the most comfortable boots I have ever owned with one exception. My only issue with these is the front top of the boot is stiff and digs into the front of my upper ankle. Good thing about that is they are starting to wear in and is becoming less of an issue. Either way, I really like the look, feel and comfort of these boots.

Super comfortable right out of the box, a little squeaky on tile and vinyl floors the first few hours I wore them but that quickly went away. Didn ’ t notice a breaking in phase like I do with other boots and the side zip makes them really easy to take on and off. Haven ’ t used them in inclement weather yet but they feel solid and I have no issue wearing them while on my feet for 8+ hours a day. The boots are breathable and with the right socks my feet don ’ t sweat like they did with other boots no matter what I did. Looking like this will be the boot I use for the rest of my career.
