I bought two, one for myself 70 ''( 175 lb.) and another for my son who about 75 ''( 225 lb). They were L and XL. they have been great in some windy, cold( mid 30's) with light precipitation. I prefer loose clothing and he is happy with the fit for himself. He is in out of the weather in his job and say the fit and performance has been great. Zip it up and tighten the waist band and you are definitely dry and warmer. I am happy that I bought them. The zipper pockets mean you do n't lose little items.

I just received this jacket today and I 'm super happy with it after only trying it on! I 'm 5'11 '', about 165- 170, athletic build and the large fits perfectly! I have a little extra length in the arms, which I love because it is a rarity. I feel like I have just enough room that I could wear a crewneck underneath without problem, but it's not bulky without layers. And it's long enough that it covers my bottom! I 'm usually between a medium and a large and I would not size down for a medium in this jacket.

Being 5 ft tall, I often get smalls but I went with a medium( even though the website recommended a large 🤨) so I could put other layers underneath it and it worked out because I could roll the sleeves up just fine. I was wearing this jacket when I had a horse riding accident. When I tell you I absolutely flew off the horse and slammed into the gravel- this jacket should have ripped immediately. [ I really like this garment. I 've always been a high- end GoreTex guy, but refuse to pay those premiums any longer. I was hoping this would give me the ventilation I needed to wear a puffy without worrying about internal moisture buildup. Did a test with walking around town 2. 5- 3 hrs in continuous light rain. I always kept my arms inside, but developed a strip of moisture along the lower arms where the front/back come together( somewhat expected, but with a slightly longer arm design could be avoided). The other problem was that the face of the fabric itself slowly leaked( it was not sweat buildup as I wore cotton layers for the test and the inner layers were completely dry). It was a small amount of water, but the rain was also light. In my judgement, this works best as a just- in- case layer, either for walking a couple of blocks in town in anything up to a downpour, or summer hiking where you might not care about getting a little damp( probably a short sleeves and shorts kind of day, with a possible shower).

I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. [ I 've been a fan of Showers Pass rain gear for a long time, and this jacket is just my most recent edition. Very thoughtfully designed with MTB in mind. The vents keep you cool when working hard. The detachable hood is a great option, once you figure out where to stash it so it does n't get lost. The sleeves cinch up just right so you can regulate air flow or totally lock it out. The reinforced shoulders are great for those long days out on the mountain. I 'd read in one review that it is n't packable, but I 've been able to fit my medium into a fanny pack no problem. Last, the attached microfiber cloth for lens cleaning is super useful. My chest size suggested a small would work, and it did fit my chest, but my arm length needed the medium. The jacket fits trim and is not too baggy.

[ Marmot has a long history of making high quality outerwear. And this history continues with Mitre peak Jacket. I have been a fan of Marmot since my first jacket( the Alpine Light Jacket) which has been with me for most of my outdoor adventures into the backcountry and high altitude peak. I still remember when the 10, 000 meter parka was the one of the best pieces of equipment a mountaineer could have for protection at very cold, high altitudes. Not sure if they still make that. Back to the review of this jacket. I like the fact that it is does not come with a liner so this makes it more versatile for layer. Not sure of the durability for and longevity as the material is lighter and therefor repeated use with pack straps and harnesses may wear stress areas out as they are not reinforced. I have yet to find rainy enough day where the jacket has not performed. Hopefully this waterproofing with continue over the life time of the jacket. My biggest issue now with the latest products from all makers( Patagonia, The North Face, etc) is the delamination of the gortex material after a few years of use. Hopefully they have resolved this issue. Looking forward to many years of use with this jacket. Check in with me in a few years, I will let you know how this performed

[ High Quality Jacket. Light weight. I 'm 5- 11, 235lbs. 48 chest and XXL fits perfect. Enough room for a thick layer underneath. The only bad is the Gore- Tex material feels a little crunchy but nothing serious. Will definitely wear on my next summit. Paid half of the original price too! Totally Rocks!
