I 'm not an emotional man but I think my eyes got a little teary when I fished with this beautiful rod for the first time. The rod is very great balance. I have it paired with a low profile Abu Garcia IKE baitcaster. It has enough backbone for a large bass but is light enough you do n't get tired throwing this all day. Got this rod on sale around Christmas. Have been fishing with it a number times and think it's great. Ordered it online and it was shipped directly from Lew's perfectly wrapped. Caught a number of small bass but some medium sized ones but also a monster that had to weigh more than 8 lbs. It has handled everything perfectly and the rod is still perfectly straight. I love almost everything about the rod. I bought the 6, 6 medium 2 peice. It's light weight, and very sensitive, I feel every bite! The only down side I have to the rod is the bait holder hook on the rod is right under your hand, which is a terrible spot if using treble hooks, or any hooks for that matter. Other then that, it's a great rod for bass fishing!

I used this for a week long fishing trip and it exceeded expectations. It was durable and versatile in use from walleye, northern, bass and even lake trout fishing with a slab! It was strong yet sensitive enough where I could feel the difference between bottom and bite and even when my spinners were spinning. Handle was also a perfect fit and size. It was hard finding a 7ft heavy pole spinning in a brand you trust. ALSO their packaging and shipping was too notch. I was looking for a 7 to 7. 5 ft super light rod to pair up with a light Daiwa 3000 class spinning reel primarily for targeting fluke in the surf. I found the 7 ft Jigging World ONYX medium action rod at Dick's, and was shocked at how light( under 6 ounces), strong, and sensitive it was. Getting a pure carbon rod at just over$ 100 is an incredible bargain. Paired the rod up with the Daiwa 3000 spooled with 10lb Yozuri Super Braid and 15lb Deception Fluorocarbon leader, and it has been perfect. The entire setup weight is around a pound and I can fish it all day easily. Very satisfied. Looking to purchase more ONYX rods in different sizes and strengths for other applications.

I have several of these rods both baitcasting and spinning. For the price they are a very good product. Do n't blame the rod for the inability to cast for distance or accuracy. It takes a good combination of rod, reel and line. I use them for Snakehead fishing and have never had a problem yanking them out of the junk.

Assuming you do your research and make sure your lure weights fall into the recommended range, this rod loads up and casts like a dream. I read some reviews on Duckett's line of casting& spinning rods and decided to give the Micro Magic casting rod a try, primarily because of the great sale price at Dick's. In a word, it's OK. Alot of complaints about the eyes not holding up but I have n't had any issues yet. It's rated a little soft and found the medium closer to a med light, so I returned it and got a med heavy 7'... much better. Have n't used it that long, but so far so good. Bought this rod a week or two ago and it ’s held up. Negatives- It ’s a bit heavy( which I get Bc it ’s main purpose is a catfish rod). Also don ’ t like the clear tip of it, why not make it glow in the dark for night fishing if your already going to make it clear? Positives- it ’s surprisingly got pretty good sensitivity for it being a thicker 2 piece rod. It ’s a pretty strong and it really shows no signs of weakness. I ’ ve caught a bunch of catfish and perch over the past week and the rod has done great. One of the catfish being over 15lbs, it ’s earned my trust. All in all if your looking for a nice, strong, and durable rod for under$ 50 this is a safe bet. It ’s got minor issues imo so the pros heavily outweigh the cons. 4/5 stars

A sensitive rod is designed to provide enhanced feedback to the angler, allowing for better detection of bites and subtle movements in the water. This increased sensitivity helps anglers respond quickly to fish activity, improving the chances of a successful catch. Additionally, sensitive rods often feature lightweight materials that enhance the overall feel and control during casting and retrieval.
Sensitive rods are typically made from high-quality materials such as graphite or composite blends, which contribute to their lightweight and responsive nature. Graphite rods, in particular, are known for their sensitivity and strength, allowing anglers to feel even the slightest nibble. The choice of material can significantly impact the rod's action, durability, and overall performance in various fishing conditions.
Sensitive rods are versatile and can be used for various fishing techniques, including spinning, casting, and even light tackle applications. Their ability to detect subtle bites makes them particularly effective for finesse fishing methods, such as drop shotting or using soft plastics. However, it's essential to choose a rod that matches the specific technique and target species for optimal performance.
Choosing the right length and action for a sensitive rod depends on your fishing style and the type of fish you are targeting. Longer rods generally provide better casting distance and leverage, while shorter rods offer more control and precision. The action of the rod, which refers to how much it bends when pressure is applied, should match your technique—fast action rods are ideal for quick hook sets, while slower action rods can provide more flexibility for lighter bites.
Sensitive rods are specifically engineered to enhance feedback and responsiveness, making them superior for detecting bites compared to standard rods. While standard rods may be more robust and suitable for heavy-duty applications, sensitive rods prioritize sensitivity and finesse, often using lighter materials and advanced construction techniques. This makes sensitive rods ideal for anglers who focus on precision and subtlety in their fishing approach.
