[ Was looking for a car camping tent, larger and more comfortable than the backpacking tent I 've had for ages. The DogHouse would sleep 2 very comfortably, you could sleep 4 if you do n't mind being a sardine. Steep sided walls gives the tent a very spacious feel. I could erect and take down the tent solo, but did struggle a bit the first time I pitched the tent to insert the tent pole into the final grommet. Also took me a while to figure out how to get the horizontal top pole out of the snap when breaking the tent down. Overall, the tent erected pretty quickly and easily in subsequent uses after the fabric stretched out a bit. Good ventilation, beefy stakes, seems to be a strong, stable tent, certainly fine for summer camping, probably 3 season. Worst conditions I 've been in are moderate wind and rain overnight, and the tent shed water no problem. I 'm assuming the fabric has a DWR coating, and it's unclear how long the waterproofing would last. I did not buy the ridiculously expensive footprint, just used a tarp close to the correct size and that worked fine. Tent material did catch in the zipper when zipping open or close the door. I wonder if anyone has solved this though.

[ This tent is easy to set up( did n't even need the directions) and super roomy. There is plenty of room to stand up, a benefit in buggy or rainy environments. In its first week of use, it survived a big wind storm, hail, and a lightning storm. It weathered all three spectacularly- as did the people inside! We stayed dry and protected with no problem. We did purchase some beefier stakes to hold it down. The door zip snags a bit, but once you realize that, it is easy to adapt to. Highly recommend.

[ I received this product from influenster in exchange for my honest opinion. Unfortunately the pics I had of this on the ice, are forever lost at the bottom of the lake lol So my unboxing photos will have to do. First thing I have to say, is that this thing is insane. Pictures really do not do this thing justice. I did n't realize how much space there would be inside of this thing. While we usually only had 3 guys fishing out of it at once, there is easily more than enough room for more. There were times we had this thing stacked with people at times during the day and night, just hanging around talking. We had enough room for all of our equipment, sunflower heater, and pretty much a full service grilling station set up to curb those mid- day munchies. Even the tall guys had no problem in this thing. Lots of head room. Living in Minnesota, there are so many variations in environment that come into play that this thing had absolutely no problem with. Even on the big lake superior, with the wind absolutely howling, this ice house handled it like a champ. Strong ice anchors kept it in place with hardly a rattle. Super thick, durable construction, held heat extremely well, and used very little propane on the sunflower after the initial warm up. Zippers are top notch as well. Usually my biggest peeve, but the zippers were free flowing, felt strong, and easy to grab even with big gloves on. Setting up was a breeze as well. Took me longer to cut and clean 3 holes than it did to pop this thing up. Break down was just as easy, which is exactly what you want at the end of day. This ice house is an absolute game changer. I literally can can not think of one con about this at all. If your sick if being cramped in a small hut, or even wish you could have more company join, this is the ticket. I only wish this winter was a little more `` wintery '' Did n't get quite as much time on the ice as previous years.

Integrated lighting is easy to set up and connect. This thing is FANTASTIC!!! Incredibly easy to set up and well built. Set it outside in- 10°f and single panel Mr heater kept it comfortable, even after 4 hours.

The Clam company does top quality work and uses the best durable fabrics and equipment, this beast is built to last. Max entry doors are great, especially when loading in and out. Love the zippers and the fact that they are excellent quality and easy sliding, that matters in freezing rain and snow. Lightweight and super easy to pack down and set up. Great amount of insulation to keep warmer and protected from the elements. The oversized skirt is perfect for snow banking. The ice anchors straps do a great job. Had the Storm Break 3 years so far, and maybe a couple/few dozen uses. At half the price of the similarly featured tents from the pro competition, it's an impressive tent IMO. It's a couple pounds heavier, but that has very little effect in my application( mostly motorcycle camping). I 've had zero problems with poles, zippers, stitching, fabric, or other parts/details. I 'm relatively careful and use common sense in setup and breakdown of the tent. I use a decent ground cloth to protect the floor and avoid exposure to sharp sticks and rock etc. Also avoid over tensioning the loops and holding points when staking and setting up guylines. I 'm careful with zippers and do n't force them or zip/unzip carelessly or super fast. In my limited experience, the zippers have been excellent. The vestibule flap zippers can be a bit fussy, and I simply use a finger to `` lead '' the zipper- pull path; this prevents the overlap fabric from getting caught in the pull. I 've used it in light rain and moderately windy conditions, but not in extreme weather. It has performed and held up just fine. Having read some of the negative reviews, I do n't understand how poles can just `` break '' or bend into some strange wavy deformed condition that some have claimed- that's odd IMO, and makes me wonder if those individuals are n't revealing the entire story/truth or maybe were careless? Setup is quick and pretty simple, and is doable in the dark if you 're familiar with the process and the tent. I really like the overall design and features: roomy, vestibules, inside mesh pockets in all 4 corners, interior hanger loops, the fly- great tent in my experience!

I 've had my dog in it with my( 110lbs). and spent probably 50 nights in it since i bought it a couple of years ago. [ Bought for trips with two people and a dog. It was easy to set up and overall light weight. Only thing is the stakes are pretty heavy but easily swapped with lighter ones so no big deal! The mesh has such high visibility that my dog actually tried to jump through it. The tent didn ’ t budge and she sort of flopped backwards. No damage to the tent so it ’s durable too!

[ We bought this to go car camping with our three- year- old. I have some nitpicks( see below) but all in all I 'm quite happy with it. PROS:- Very easy to set up.- Main tent body is mostly mesh; nice for ventilation and stargazing. Rain fly provides full coverage, for a little more warmth and privacy.- Included footprint is a nice addition. CONS:- Quite heavy, but this is to be expected at the price.- The bag has no handle, and it can be a little tricky to get all the pieces stuffed back in.- The included stakes are a little flimsy. I 've already bent one of them, on our first trip out.- The stake- out loops on the rainfly do n't work very well( though I plan on tying them out with line next time, which should take care of it).

[ I bought this tent last year, but was only able to use it for the first time a few weeks ago. I was excited to give it a try and was not disappointed. Some high level thoughts: 1. I wanted a tent with a large vestibule AND that I could stand up in. I live in the PNW and we get a lot of rainy days. The amount of space was perfect for my setup. 2. The initial build is a but confusing at first, but once you figure it out is a breeze to setup. The tent uses a snap system that I have n't encountered before but that I find clever. 3. It took me more than a few minutes and few tries to figure out which is the front door when adding the tarp. BA likely could have added some big arrows or something here. 4. Yes, this is a two person tent, but I use a larger sleeping pad, so really only have space for one( ok with me since I solo mostly). 5. Definitely a car camping tent. But it is compact enough when stored to not take up too much room. 6. My only real complaint is the vestibule has about a 6 '' gap around the bottom edges. So you do n't get a real feeling of 100% privacy. I also use the separate footprint and I kept kicking dirt into the vestibule area that required me to constantly sweep out. On the other hand, did n't have any problem with bugs. 7. Love the amount of doors, including the front and side door. Bottom line: This will be my go- to tent for solo car camping, especially on wet/rainy weekends.

[ I bought this to replace my 14 year old kelty for backpacking with my dog. I was surprised by the strength of the material considering it feels very thin and fragile in your hand. I am happy to report after two trips with a two year old lab with uncut nails, this tent has held up phenomenally with out any tears or punctures. It is incredibly lightweight and packs well. The overall construction of the tent( zippers, buckles, poles, ect.) is very well made and worth the price. Its also one of the more user friendly small tents, as it is equipped with pockets galore.

There ’s lighter options out there, even within Big Agnes, but I went with this because beyond all of its great features, size, and weight, it ’s also freestanding if you don ’ t feel like staking out for whatever reason. [ I bought this tent for solo backpacking trips in large part because of other reviews& it fit the bill. I wanted a light, freestanding, 1P tent. I 've used it a few times& I could n't be happier w/ it. Quick& easy to set up. Packs fairly small. Nice features. I actually paired it w/ the bike packing footprint for this model on account of more ground coverage in the vestibule so my pack would n't sit on damp ground. I do n't personally find the tent to be very fragile, like others suggest, but it's also not as robust as other tents I own. Take care of it& it 'll take care of you. I own other Big Agnes gear& I 'm never let down. They also have a great repair team( had to send my Big House 4 tent in for repairs after the dogs busted out one night chasing chupacabras)

[ I have had my eye on the tent for a few years now. While it is a bit more expensive than what I have spent on tents in the past, I can honestly say that I am very happy that I decided to go ahead and get it. The lower weight and smaller pack size of the Copper Spur UL1 made a big difference in my base weight and pack volume requirements. I am trying to get down to a smaller pack size for trips more than 3 days and the tent size was one of biggest issues. I know this tent is marketed as `` HV ''( high volume), but I was honestly surprised how much roomer it feels compared to my previous 1P tent. I am 6 '' 3 '' and there is plenty of head room for me to sit up without worrying about touching the top with my head. I really like the quality of the stakes that come with the tent. This is one of the first tents that I did not immediately replace the default stakes with something better. I have n't had a chance to really, truly use the `` porch '' that you can create with your trekking poles, but I can see how that will be very useful for cooking in a light rain. It did rain slightly on the second night of my first trip out with the new tent and I had no issues, as you would expect in that scenario. I did break one segment on the pole the very first time I used the tent. It was 100% user error. I called and emailed Big Agnes, provided the required info, and they gave me the option to send it in for repair( no charge for the repair service) or to just have the part shipped to me, along with a video that explains how to perform the repair, which was quite easy. I did have to pay shipping, but that was not much.

Do you have fond family memories of fighting over tent assembly? Not anymore! I ’ ve put it up three times( 43F) with my son( 6) in our backyard. The first time took the longest obviously due to learning parts, reading instructions etc. 2nd& 3rd time literally took 5 minutes. The first two times I took it down before rain, but this last time I figured what the heck? Let ’s find out what this thing is made of. It ’s been rainy& extremely windy all day and she ’s dry inside and in place( and truthfully I don ’ t have all ties done). I ’ ve never enjoyed a tent more& am excited to know we can go “ real ” camping and stay high and dry even during rough weather. One note- I did also have a clip break like the person who rated this tent 1 star for that reason but didn ’ t find it to be a big deal at all to tie it another way. Half of the enjoyment of camping and being outside is relying on creativity and ingenuity. I ’ m also betting Coleman would put a clip in the mail if it did bother me. Overall this is a really nice tent for the price. Everything is really well packed and instructions are attached to the carrying bag and really easy to follow. We did an outside practice run and it took about 15 minutes to unpack and set up and tear down the tent. We did not stake or attach the fly on this test. Also, unlike many tents, this is a tall tent, tall enough for a 6 foot man to stand upright at the tallest point. My favorite part is how easy it was to pack it back up into the carrying bag. It is roomy, not a tight duffel like many other tent bags. You could even store other accessories in the bag if needed. The basic tent without the fly would also be a great secondary tent to set up and use as a bug screen for meals during the peak buggy seasons.

Bought this tent a long time ago, about fourteen years. Has held up great for that time. Ten min. set up time with two people. Hooked this tent to the back of my truck that has a cap. Worked great as a second room. I use the truck as a bedroom. Sleeve zips off for a third door option if using the tent alone. The only problem was when it rained one time and a pool formed between the cap and the tent on the sleeve. If it was on the right car maybe this would n't happen. The other thing that should be done to make set up easier is to mark the center of each tent pole. This is to mark the apex of the tent to tie the roof ties to. You will see what I mean when you set up. Would I buy this tent again? Yes. And I have never put any kind of waterproofer or seam sealer on and never had a leak.

I used the tent for the first time this past weekend and thought it was great!! My wife even enjoyed camping and I was n't sure that was possible. I heard from reviews that people said that it was hard to set up, but me and my friend set it up for the first time in the dark and only took us 10 minutes, very simple. They even have a video that shows you how to set it up, I would advise watching it first if you are unsure. Others said that it wouldnt fit back in the bag that it comes with, but again, I had no problem with it at all. The only cons were the tent pegs that came with it. They had no point at the end and bent everytime you hammered them in. I went to REI and bought some titanium tent pegs and problem was solved. The only other con was that when using the zippers, they sometimes catch the overflap fabric. Not sure how to fix it yet, but not a big concern. The tent is big and very roomy. I 'm 6' 5 '' and could walk around the tent with no problem. I have a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and the fit was perfect. Great tent, cant wait to use it again!

Love the idea of attaching this tent to my SUV. My wife and I have spent many a nights stacking stuff form the back into the front seats to make room for us in the back. This tent arrived and we headed out to go camping, first stop Holter Lake Montana, fee for camping sights vehicles on pavement tents on grass, you can imagine that we could not drive stakes into the ground when half would have to go through pavement. Headed out of Holter to camp at the Bridge where the access road to Holter meets up with the river at wolf creek canyon. Pitched the tent, pole, stakes everything and lit the barbeque and settle down for the night. Then the wind came and tent blew away. Lesson learned point the vehicle into the wind if known or possible( keep in mind, Eastern Montana is some of the windiest area in the United States. Packed up and headed home in the middle of the night. Two days later headed out to Yogo Creek Montana, found a remote site and set up camp, some wind but it was steady and we pointed vehicle into the wind. Everything else went off without a hitch, beautiful clear creek, camp fire and tent did fine in the 10 to 12 mph wind gust. One small problem, the straps that attach to the tent and come over the top of the vehicle and attach under the hood. When the wind blows is raddles those straps and makes a noise like a semi using air brakes. I will be going to the dollar store and buying some cheap pool noodles, slicing them half way and attaching them over those straps to stop this in the future. Over all glad I bought the tent, roomy and pretty easy to set up and break down.

[ This tent is a little bigger than what we needed as a family( 3people+ 1dog) for weekend camping trips, but that's what we wanted. This is not a cabin tent so I do n't need to worry about high winds causing too much stress on the frame and tent seams. I love that I do n't have to stoop whenever I 'm inside the main part of the tent. The two vestibules created when the rain fly is on the tent are great for leaving muddy shoes outside but still under cover. There were plenty of pockets on the inside of the tent for our stuff and one great thing about them was that the pockets kept your stuff away from the walls... no morning dew on your stuff!!! Setup was simple; follow the directions on the tag of the tent bag. I tried to just logic my way through it the first time and one of my poles got a little bent... not bad, but I felt like an idiot. Followed the directions the text time and it went up easy. Also, 1 person can set this tent up, 2 people is better. 1 person can take this tent down without any difficulty. The rain fly has so many Velcro straps on the underside to wrap around the poles to help keep it in place. I used maybe 2 at each vestibule end and staked out the vestibules. The rest of the fly I left in place using only the clips to the main tent. We were n't expecting much wind so I did n't bother with the rest or the guy lines and the tent did just fine. Also, the seams are taped inside using some kind of flexible water repellant tape/adhesive... awesome!!! I ca n't say how many times I 've camped in the past and the seams are the first place where condensation forms and starts dripping... that's annoying. Taped seams should solve, or at the very least help with that problem. I would definitely recommend this tent.

I used this tent for the first time in the Smokey Mountains this summer( summer '24) and a strong thunderstorm hit us for about 16 hours. There were four other people with different tents... all had water that permeated except for my Stormbreak( I guess you could say it really did Break the Storm- sorry of the pun). The tent cover provides a good amount of cover around the tent and is supported off the tent keeping water from coming through where items may be touching the wall. Additionally, the floor of the tent comes up probably 6- 8 '' which helped keep the flowing water around my tent OUT( Most of the other tents in our group got water in them from water flowing around their tent vs the rainfall itself). Two of the other guys in our group ended up buying my tent after they saw how well it held up. I would 100% recommend this tent to anyone.

We purchased this tent for our recent backpack camping trip. It wasn ’ t too heavy, but it did take up a decent amount of space in the 65L bag. We felt we needed a little more room than our 2- person tent so we could fit ourselves and our gear. This tent worked perfect for our needs- the two of us& a queen air mattress fit great. We had enough room for 4 50L/65L frame backpacks( ours and our other two camp mates) and could still move around without stepping on everything and keep things organized. The vestibule was an added plus- it was nice having some extra room for our chairs& other small items. Would absolutely recommend this tent to anyone looking for a roomier 2/3- person tent or just enough space for 4- person.

[ I took this out for an inaugural vsmping trip last week under very windy conditions, this tent stayed exactly where it was supposed to and did n't loosen after being pummeled by windy conditions for 3 days and nights. The vestibule was so great, it's like having a whole other tent for gear that you do n't want inside the tent. Very happy with this purchase.

[ Solidly- built and functional car- camping tent. Ample space for our crew of two adults and a toddler. Easy setup. Pitches taut. Fun, retro color scheme. The guy lines can be rolled up into the attached sleeves when not in use. Included stakes are heavy duty. The front porch awning wins the day as a stow area for gear or as a covered area to hang out. Initially I wondered how the tent would breath with just the one small vent, but the rain fly stakes out nicely creating airflow( not to mention the ventilation options provided by front awning system). The tent easily fits back into the included carrying pack- no wrestling required. Cons: the front zipper is really tight and requires two hands to zip( may just be my tent, idk). No included ground sheet, which would be recommended to extend life of the tent. Overall, this is what I feel is a best- in- class considering all factors. For a reasonably priced four person tent with some thoughtful product design, you could do no wrong with the Kelty Rumpus 4. Ca n't wait for the next outing!

[ i love this little clam shack! my grandparents always had a screenhouse. we just moved& i wanted one too! this is a perfect size 6x6. it is lightweight and easy to put up once you figure it out. i swear i had 3 neighbors laughing at me when i was trying. i had to bring out the big guns& grab my husband lol 😂 it also breaks down easily and fits into the bag in the photo.

[ So far so good. After I seam sealed it, I set this tent up in my backyard and left it up overnight during a heavy thunderstorm with lots of wind and rain. It performed like a champ. Stayed reasonably taught and dry as a bone. I have n't used this in the field yet. Will be hiking the AT at GSNP in a few weeks. Ca n't wait to use it for real.

I sometimes splurge on backpacking trips with my 80x30 '' pad, because A. It fits and B. I 've saved so much weight with my tent, I do n't feel guilty bringing this.

[ For the money it ’s hard to beat this tent. If it was$ 100 more I would say go ahead and get a z packs but for the 5- 8 oz difference in weight and the$ 450 price difference I think this is hands down the better option. You can find tents even cheaper than this but the problem is that they are made from nylon instead of polyester like this one is. Nylon breaks down from UV likely quickly compared to polyester and it also stretches when wet which will leave you with a sagging tent. This tent being made from polyester eliminates both of these issues. Overall I ’ m very happy with my purchase. I ’ m sure if you are reading this you either have already watched videos on this tent or plan to soon. Definitely do before you buy but I think you ’ ll soon find out that everyone who gets it really enjoys it.

The Reluctant Camper
We have used this tent for a couple of years now and still love it. Once we got the hang of it, set up was much easier. We place a tarp underneath to protect the floor, as well as some plastic sheeting on top of the flooring. I think this will increase the life of the flooring. We 've weathered some big storms and have remained leak proof. We are able to fit 3 cots in the main area, and two slim twin sized blow up mattresses in the bed of our van, thus we can sleep 5 fairly comfortably. This was an excellent start- up tent for new campers.

Set up& tear down are simple& intuitive and take only about 20 min. if you take your time. The tent itself is very spacious and easy to connect to the vehicle. It fits our vintage station wagon very nicely. Quality of workmanship and materials appears to be a little better than average, but not rugged. After unfolding the tent the second time we did notice some marring on one of the screens, apparently from the plastic pole sockets. Be sure to use the protective bags that go over these hard plastic pieces before folding for storage. Also while folding, I reached for a corner on the screen room& got only the tarp- like edging that borders the bottom seam& it tore away at the edge a little. Again, not really the fault of the manufacturer, just another area where you need to be carful when setting up& tearing down. To sum up, it is a great product, well designed and easy to use, but its not fool proof.
