These are extremely lightweight and comfortable for me. I ’ m pretty thin though, and I can see why some say they have trouble fitting with wider feet/ankles. The shoe has no tongue, so it doesn ’ t splay open as far as other shoes. If you have big ankles and/or wear your tennies wide open& untied, this shoe will not work out for you. This is for people who cinch& tie their shoes so they can be active without them falling off. Recently purchased these for our trip to Iceland. I was a bit skeptical at first due to the mixed reviews but ultimately decided the price at the time was something I couldn ’ t miss out on and was a risk I was willing to take! On our trip, they proved to be waterproof( at least up the ankle of course) and had a great fit. I first broke them in on our trip and they were very comfortable. I ’ ve used them again and again on hiking adventures and just for regular use and they ’ re awesome! I have wide feet and they didn ’ t feel as tight as other reviews have mentioned. What I can say is they felt secure and that ’s always a plus when it comes to hiking footwear!
