I can speak from alot of experience with this product. I use this these for freshwater trout that are locally stocked. If you impart the correct action, you will draw strikes when nobody else is.. i 've often outfished live fatheads. Also, if your intentions are to catch and release, using a 2 in jig like this with a 1/32 th oz head assures an easy liphook for quick releases. I bought this bait at my local dicks sporting goods store last week. I fish on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in Upstate New York. I purchased some Berkley grub minnows for fishing off of a dock near a marina and off of the shore near a small bank. I had lots of success in landing some fish including some blue gill, pumpkin seed, rock bass, and large mouth bass. Do n't let me forget to mention that I caught A LOT of gobies. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. You can definitely catch some 2 or 3 lb largemouth on these bait if you are fishing in the right area. I found that using a size 4 jawbone hook worked well with a Carolina rig for the fish I was after. I added a 1/8 oz weight about 5 inches from the hook. I received most bites and catches on sunny days with calm water in about 20- 40 feet of water. To retrieve the bait cast it out very far, then let it sink to the bottom. Then just slowly reel on the line every 5 seconds then let it sink then repeat. These baits tear away after you snag them or hook them multiple times. They also lose scent after a while so sometimes if it is reusable I wash it off then throw it back in the bag to soak in the juice.

I bought a bag of this bait at my local dicks store last week. I fish regularly on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in NY. I purchased some minnow soft baits as an alternative bait to my Berkley grub baits. I had lots of success in catching some fish including some blue gill, perch, and large mouth. I also caught tons! and tons! of gobies where I fished. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. I was only fishing of a dock so I did n't get the full experience of using this bait on a boat or kayak. I found that using a smaller hook worked well in catching the fish near me. I hooked the bait through the head and out the bottom similar to a carolina rig. The bait works well even after a few fish are caught and the bait is broken down. I suggest throwing the bait back in the back once finished so it can redial up the liquid in the gulp bag. All in all decent bait for a good price.

I have been using Zoom Fat Albert grubs for several years and they are the best in my opinion. I fish them on a jig head', swimming them back to the boat using a lift and drop retrieve and sometimes a straight retrieve. You need to try both methods to see which one works the best each day. I also use them as a trailer on spinner baits. And do n't forget to try them on a safety pin rig like the old beetle spin but with the Fat Albert in stead of the beetle.

Texas rig these lures, cast them out, twitch a couple of times and let them sink. The bass can not resist them. Or add a small weight and jig them off the bottom.

The irratic darting motion on a jerk- pause retrieve looks so much like a fish in distress, it has caught big and small bass, very effective when they 're feeding near the surface, it's action does get a reaction bite that varies. Sometimes the line just stops with no initial tap or tug, other times they try to rip the rod out of my hands!

I 've been cleaning up on big bass with these lately. Watermelon slice color. Fished weightless, Texposed on a 3/0 Texposer hook. Cast to likely cover, let it sink and watch the line. Better action than Yamamoto Senkos, less expensive, more durable... great wacky rigged, too
