I bought based on the actual measurements of the jacket. I have a medium that is 22 '' in the chest. I usually wear L or XL in women 's clothes, I 'm happy w this choice bc the jacket is a little more fitted which is good given the weight and bulk. The other thing I wondered was whether it stretches. People said it was stiff, and it is. I 'm assuming it might loosen up w wear over time. [ I bought this a couple months ago to wear at work over my scrubs. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it. It has a nice sweater weave with a brushed fleece interior, which is soft. The style is really nice, and it ’s warm. The pockets are deep, however, you have to be careful because the pocket openings zip all the way to the floor of the pocket. I was fortunate enough to be able to grab this when it was half price and I 'm so glad I did! The color is exactly as shown. The inside has a beautifully soft fleece layer. I also like that it has a loop near the tag inside for easier hanging. I often wear a size large in most women 's clothing, but this was described as being a little bit of a loser fit and I would definitely agree with that. And I feel like it fits well while even having a little roof to spare, which is great for when I want to wear layers. I also like that it 's a little bit longer in the back, so if you 're wearing leggings and would like to cover up a little bit more, this offers a little more coverage. Coverage. There are two good size pockets in the direct front on either side of the jacket and it has a zipper closure. So nice to be able to cinch in the waist... dress down with leggings and wear as athleisure or looks super cute with jeans and tennis shoes or boots! Wash on gentle cycle and hang dry to keep fleece soft and fluffy. All of my girls got them for Christmas and love them too! They are true to size! I am usually a small and got a small for a slightly oversized fit as pictured. I did get an XS in my second one and it also fits great but I think true to size is perfect!
