I have more than one of these now- two for work& one for play. Fits fantastic, easy adjustment tab in the back. You can `` boonie '' it and scrunch the brim to get that sun that's angled to the side or shove it in your pack/pocket. Take it out and a hard shake will get the brim back. I run this through rocks, brush, sappy pines. No issues or snags. Breathes well and has some water resistance. One of the best things OR has made.

It looks good, it does everything you need and nothing you do n't need. I love the way this hat looks and fits. I have a pretty small head and it has quick easy adjustments. The adjustments are so good that I ride to the beach and back home on my motorcycle without this thing flying off. When I get to the beach and ready to fish I can loosen it in less than a second. It's sun gear so the most important thing is the protection. it's still spring here in Florida but it's already up to 80s on a regular and the day in the photograph was exactly that. The hat works great for blocking the sun and it also does a pretty good job keeping you cool. The brim is stiff enough to stay out flat for coverage but soft enough to still look good. Used it all last summer and heading into this year i 'm relying on it again. Caught my first pompano of the year and the photograph came out great so I figured i 'd actually write a review.

This hat is cool because it has a brim for sun protection but it's not huge and floppy. Size up for a bit more brim, or down for a more compact brim. My head is on the big side, and this hat is perfectly roomy and comfortable. It ’s great for summer! I wear it in the pool to keep the sun out of my eyes, and it dries quickly and the chlorine hasn ’ t caused any discoloration. I ’ ve also been able to toss it in the washing machine without incident( but I do air dry it). I did cut the strings off( just not my thing!), but they ’ re great for the people who want to secure it a bit better. It stays just fine without them!

I go on birdwatching trips, and on a bird- watching Safari, we were advised to be sure the hat we wore would n't obstruct the view of others in the vehicle, so I chose this hat. I have three of these hats. I keep one in the car and one in my backpack so I always have it on hand. I am a redhead and these do the best job of protecting my neck, scalp, and face of any hat I have owned. I also love the folding brim so it can go in a pocket. It stays on well in windy conditions if you snap it under your chin. I wish it came in more colors. Fun ones. I would love orange or teal or fuchsia.

I love boonie hats, but the Sport Hat can keep out all angles of sunlight. It is feathery light on your head, but it is still rugged. This is my third one as others finally wore out or got damaged. The hat is a solid hat from Outdoor Research. It reminds me of one of my favorite hats from 4- 5 years ago from OR. The hat is a mid crowd hat compared to other older models breathable trucker hats. The material breaths well and the adjustment system is simple and easy to adjust on windy days. You can throw it in your bag in the morning and wear for happy hour beers after a ride. I got this hat because the brim is slightly smaller than my full on sun hat, so it ’s not as awkward to wear in the car or indoors, but still provides a good amount of sun protection. I got the goldenrod color, and it ’s a little darker in person, but still a cool color. It does seem to run a little small compared to my other hats of the same size, so if you ’ re in between sizes, probably best to size up. Oh, and the sunglasses holder is awesome!
