A couple of years ago I switched over to Berkley Nanofil braid from regular monofilament. I love braid because it has no memory and I have never had a birds nest of tangled spinning line since I switched to Nanofil. However since braid is super slippery it is pretty difficult to tie a piece of monofilament to braid for a leader. I use a Palomar knot to attach the swivel to the braided line and I attach a piece of 10# to 15# mono, about 3' long, on to the other end of the swivel with an improved clinch knot.

Swivel assembly mounts easily to a plywood panel for speed bag use. Only minor flaws to the base plate encountered( burrs were found on some of the base plate bolt holes openings and required removal prior to installation... easily remedied though). I 'd also recommend lubricating the bearing swivel joint with an aerosol grease prior to mounting it.

I ALWAYS use dual lock snaps on crankbaits& frogs for a couple reasons: 1.) because I fish Pickerel, Bowfin& Snakehead infested waters in the Northeast when going for Largemouth Bass. And, they provide ADDED PROTECTION against those `` toothy critters ''-- decreasing the chances of line slicing& lure theft. 2.)
