I bought this bait at my local dicks sporting goods store last week. I fish on Cayuga lake which is located in the finger lakes in Upstate New York. I purchased some Berkley grub minnows for fishing off of a dock near a marina and off of the shore near a small bank. I had lots of success in landing some fish including some blue gill, pumpkin seed, rock bass, and large mouth bass. Do n't let me forget to mention that I caught A LOT of gobies. These things have huge mouths and love the scented bait. You can definitely catch some 2 or 3 lb largemouth on these bait if you are fishing in the right area. I found that using a size 4 jawbone hook worked well with a Carolina rig for the fish I was after. I added a 1/8 oz weight about 5 inches from the hook. I received most bites and catches on sunny days with calm water in about 20- 40 feet of water. To retrieve the bait cast it out very far, then let it sink to the bottom. Then just slowly reel on the line every 5 seconds then let it sink then repeat. These baits tear away after you snag them or hook them multiple times. They also lose scent after a while so sometimes if it is reusable I wash it off then throw it back in the bag to soak in the juice.

I like Gulp because they are always in my box and I do n't waste an hour getting live bait. When fish are biting they are actually better than live shrimp because they stay on the hook longer and are not bitten off. You can also cast them further without them flying off like live shrimp often do. But honistly they are not quite as good as live shrimp when the bite is off, when the fishing is slow. But all in all I love these things and use them more often than live shrimp because they work most of the time and sometimes even better than live bait.

I love this bait! All of the Heddon Jr. sized walking baits seems to be sweet spot in my area for largemouth. They will smash these baits! If you have good technique in using walking baits, then these are a must for your tackle box. I own several colors from black to bone, but the one I purchased from Dick's is the G- Finish Bullfrog. The Super Spook Jr in Florida Bass color is also a good one. My last time out using this bait, a 2. 5lber leaped out of the water for it as I was pulling it out for a recast! How cool is that!?!

Went out trout fishing and they were ONLY biting on THESE lures! I went through at least a dozen different lures/bait without a single nibble before stringing one of these up. After that, all I used were these lures and caught all day long! I clipped an 1/8oz split shot on the lure right above the blade( making sure that the blade could still spin freely) to give me better casting distance with my spinning rod and it was just the right distance at just the right depth. I used a slow to medium retrieve method with nothing fancy and the result was amazing! There were several times in a row that I did n't reel in without a fish at the end of my line! This is a great artificial. Cast it out, real it back in fairly fast and feel the strikes. I 've caught Red's, Snook, Lady Fish( I know but they 're fun to catch), and Mackerel( Spanish and King). I do however change out the Treble hook with a tougher# 4. The hooks that come on it are a little on the cheap side. Minor inconvenience for a great bait.
