Especially like the blade angle and the scoop to the paddle. Appreciate that it separates into 2 pieces for carting to the lake.

My wife and I got kayaks for early Christmas presents so after looking online and checking reviews I bought two of these paddles. They are excellent quality and take up little space in the back of my subaru forester when the paddles are taken apart. Only negative thing I can say is I wish they were a little longer. Our kayaks are sit in and fairly wide, if you have similar kayaks you will want a longer paddle.

When selecting a touring kayak paddle, consider the paddle length, blade shape, and material. A longer paddle may be more efficient for longer distances, while a shorter paddle can offer better maneuverability. Additionally, materials like fiberglass or aluminum can affect weight and durability, so choose one that fits your paddling style and comfort.
The material of a touring kayak paddle significantly influences its weight, strength, and flexibility. Fiberglass paddles are often lighter and provide better performance for long-distance paddling, while aluminum paddles are typically more durable and affordable. Understanding the trade-offs between materials can help you select the best paddle for your needs.
An adjustable touring kayak paddle offers versatility, allowing you to customize the length based on your paddling style or conditions. This feature is particularly useful for accommodating different paddlers or adjusting for various water conditions. It can enhance comfort and efficiency during long paddling sessions.
The blade shape of a touring kayak paddle can affect your stroke efficiency and power. Wider blades provide more surface area for stronger strokes, while narrower blades offer smoother strokes and less resistance. Choosing the right blade shape depends on your paddling technique and the type of water you will be navigating.
To find the right length for your touring kayak paddle, consider your height, the width of your kayak, and your paddling style. Taller paddlers or those with wider kayaks may require longer paddles, while shorter paddlers or narrower kayaks can benefit from shorter lengths. Many brands provide sizing charts to help you make an informed decision.
The weight of touring kayak paddles can vary widely based on materials and design, typically ranging from around 1.5 to 3.5 pounds. Lighter paddles are generally preferred for long-distance paddling as they reduce fatigue, while heavier paddles may offer increased durability. It's important to balance weight with comfort and performance when making your choice.
