Hard to beat this rod for fluke. Can fish 4 oz buck tails in the ml. I paired this a Shimano Spheros SW 4, 000 and 15# PowerPro Super Slick. It is a beast rod for fluke and sea bass. I would have no hesitation for mid column and top water stripers and blue fish with this. Its a hard to beat Shimano as a production rod.

I was dropping 8 and 10 ounce verticle jigs down to 150 feet and the rod performed excellently. Strong backbone, yet sensitive enough to feel the bite. No need to spend hundreds of$ for a jigging rod. I caught several large Amberjacks with this rod and it did a great job controlling the fight. I like it so much I bought the Penn SSV 6500 6' 6 '' spinning/jigging rod and reel combo I have n't used it yet but I know it will perform as well as the more expensive jigging set up's.

I bought this rod to go jigging for sea bass, black fish, and striper. I paired it up with a gomexus 7: 1 slow pitch jigging reel and 30lb powerpro braid. I should have no problem hauling up some nice fish.
