i bought this rod 2 months ago and absolutely happy with it for$ 20. 00 did n't expect much but man this rod has been great. i live on the central coast of California and I 've use this rod in the surf for rock fishing and it hold up really well. these rod can handle good size fish. i have caught up to 3lb surf perch on this rod, 18 inch green- lings and 7lb Cabezon, freed line from thick weeds and horse fish out of rocks with this rod. I 'm a budget oriented angler and on this rod its the best use of$ 20. 00 i ever spent hands down..

Works and performs like one worth 10 times as much

5 Pdjayzing
I have a few surf rods, all cost way more then this one and funny thing is this one is my absolute favorite. I tell everyone how shocked I was with how good this one feels and performs and that it truly is the best 20$ I ever spent in my life. I reeled in a 10lb striper out of heavy surf just the other day with 30mph headwinds casting a 2oz bucktail. I have the 11 ’ one. If you surfcast, try this rod. You ’ ll probably sell all your others. Feels so good in the hands and it ’s so easy on my back and the casting goes so far and the lure action is so easy to handle. Buy this rod now.

In the past I had a few bad experiences with Daiwa fishing gear and as a result was skeptical of their products for years. Then a couple months ago I bought a couple Daiwa reels that impressed me for carp fishing and they were so sturdy and solid and casted so well that I use them for saltwater as well. While the reels were up to the challenge for surf fishing my Carp rods were not so I picked up 2 of these 11 Daiwa surf rods and am so glad I did. They feel so good and solid and cast beautifully. I have so much control over where my bait lands with these rods and have just enough sensitivity to see and feel even the small bites. I am blown away by the quality of these rods and would recommend them to anyone.

Ca n't go wrong with Lamiglas. This rod performed better than expected for me. First I thought I might not like it as it is not on their expensive line but I was surprised when I used it. Light weight( for its price range, more expensive ones are way lighter), awesome casting distance, great for both jigging and plugging! Used it on Cape Cod Canal and open ocean.

I put the new Quantum Strve 5000 on this rod. Great combo for in shore and off shore fishing.

4 CollinL11
Bought this rod a week or two ago and it ’s held up. Negatives- It ’s a bit heavy( which I get Bc it ’s main purpose is a catfish rod). Also don ’ t like the clear tip of it, why not make it glow in the dark for night fishing if your already going to make it clear? Positives- it ’s surprisingly got pretty good sensitivity for it being a thicker 2 piece rod. It ’s a pretty strong and it really shows no signs of weakness. I ’ ve caught a bunch of catfish and perch over the past week and the rod has done great. One of the catfish being over 15lbs, it ’s earned my trust. All in all if your looking for a nice, strong, and durable rod for under$ 50 this is a safe bet. It ’s got minor issues imo so the pros heavily outweigh the cons. 4/5 stars

Dick's 25% off sale swayed me. I got the 7' TSF70M. It is stiff, however, enough flex to really whip- launch the 3/4 oz. spoons that I throw. First outing with it got me 2 Lakers. This rod is sensitive& responsive and the rod fought the fish well. This rod seems sturdy and is well put together with good fit 'n finish. The smaller- than- average diameter hand- grips seem to make it, or me, more responsive. Love this rod so far!

Bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it! He said this is one of the best rods he had!

5 Kraig 1975
I am new to salmon fishing and I wanted a pole that could handle a King Salmon. My son and I both used this combo last week spooled with 14 lb. fluorocarbon and we were both able to land a tackle busting King Salmon using them. One of the kings was well over 20 lbs.( not sure of the exact weight because we only had a 20 lb. scale). Now my daughter wants to go next time, so I will probably be adding another rod and reel combo to our collection.

5 Jayson95gt

5 Trapperluke

Frequently Asked Questions For Heavy Duty Spinning Rods

When selecting a heavy duty spinning rod, consider factors such as the rod's power and action, which determine its ability to handle larger fish and heavy lures. Look for materials like graphite or fiberglass, as they offer strength and sensitivity. Additionally, check the rod's length and handle design for comfort during extended use.

Heavy duty spinning rods are ideal for targeting larger species in both freshwater and saltwater environments. They are commonly used for surf fishing, trolling, and deep-sea fishing, where the need for durability and strength is crucial. Their versatility also makes them suitable for various techniques, including casting heavy lures and live bait.

The right length for a heavy duty spinning rod depends on your fishing style and the type of water you'll be fishing in. Longer rods provide greater casting distance and leverage when fighting larger fish, while shorter rods offer better control and accuracy. Consider your comfort and the specific fishing conditions when choosing the length.

Heavy duty spinning rods are designed to handle larger fish and heavier tackle compared to standard spinning rods. They typically feature more robust construction, increased power ratings, and enhanced action to withstand the strain of battling big game fish. This makes them a better choice for serious anglers targeting larger species.

While heavy duty spinning rods can be used by beginners, they may be more suitable for those who have some experience with fishing. The added strength and sensitivity can be beneficial, but beginners may find lighter rods easier to handle. It's important to choose a rod that matches your skill level and the type of fishing you plan to do.

Maintaining a heavy duty spinning rod involves regular cleaning and inspection for any signs of wear or damage. After each use, rinse the rod with fresh water to remove salt and debris, and check the guides and reel seat for any issues. Proper storage is also important; keep the rod in a protective case to prevent damage when not in use.
