I have several of these rods both baitcasting and spinning. For the price they are a very good product. Do n't blame the rod for the inability to cast for distance or accuracy. It takes a good combination of rod, reel and line. I use them for Snakehead fishing and have never had a problem yanking them out of the junk.

Assuming you do your research and make sure your lure weights fall into the recommended range, this rod loads up and casts like a dream. It is my number one go to rod on all of my spinning setups, and thats not even considering the great price. Super light weight, but has a super stiff backbone for a medium power rod.

Kayak Panfisher
I ’ ve owned this rod for about a year now and can whole heartedly sing it praises. I ’ m a AVID kayak pan fisherman. I ’ ve had this rod back in the skinny water catching bluegill, to white bass in rivers all the way to brackish gulf water catching flounder to test its metal. It passed all with flying colors. Section held together very well, eyelets are ceramic and kept the 10lb braid in good shape. Plenty of backbone for finessing bigger fish, just use a quality reel with good drag. My only suggestion for St Croix….. add an extra piece and make it 8 ’. This would be a perfect travel fresh water rod.

I sort of like the feel of cork grips over these carbon ones, but the carbon ones clean up way easier, and if I really wanted to, I could put cork handle bar tape on the carbon grips, especially to make the handle warmer in freezing

This is my second Okuma SST spinning rod for steelhead fishing. I use the 10' 6 '' SST Float Drift because it is well made, light, fast tip, and costs a third of the more expensive rods. I am not giving up anything on capability with this rod and it is priced right for me. I fish an Okuma Trios spinning reel for steelhead. I use 30 lb. braid for the main line. I use this rod for bobber doggin', float fishing, and drift fishing. Great quality at a great price that does n't break my bank!
5
Puget Sound Angler Man
This is the Medium Heavy Medium Fast 8' 6 '' carbon handle version. FYI, the website misspelled it as `` Mag '' Heavy when it should be `` Med '' heavy. The SST MH, MF 8' 6 '' is a great do- it- all rod length power and action for Pacific Northwest fishing from trout to large king salmon. I use mine mostly for bass and Coho+ King salmon which can get over 25lbs. I paired mine with a 4000 series reel which is about ideal reel size for this rod. The rod has more of a fast action than medium fast by other company's standards. It also has a decent backbone near the handle area for when I need to clamp down the drag and horse a giant fish away from snags or to yank them up onto the shore. I sort of like the feel of cork grips over these carbon ones, but the carbon ones clean up way easier, and if I really wanted to, I could put cork handle bar tape on the carbon grips, especially to make the handle warmer in freezing weather.

I ’ m a St croix guy and this rod is TOUGH! The mojo series is light weight and durable. Very sensitive and comfortable to hold. The 7 ” medium is a great rod for plastics and wacky rigs. A great all purpose rod in my opinion. The split grip helps with casting while keeping it short and low profile for kayak guys.( I like it for the weight reduction). 10/10 rod. Will continue to add more mojo to my collection.

Given that I have all four of the Dobyns Kaden spinning rods, but had to only keep two of them, I ’ d probably pick the “ extra light ”( trout/panfish) and the M power and be able to catch just about anything I fish
5
Catch and Release
The Dobyns Kaden Light Power, Fast Action rod has has a quick taper at the tip and more backbone than typical `` light power '' rods making it a great choice for large panfish, trout, and bass when throwing 1/8- 3/8 oz. lures. The rod is very sensitive and capable of detecting subtle bites and underwater structure. The rod quality and finish are excellent. The rod blank is finished with Sea Guide's XO guides, Fuji reel seat, contoured split grip cork handle, and the blank is a clean black matte finish that easily matches all reel colors.

I do a lot of trout fishing in rivers and small ponds. Most fish are under two pounds. This is a great lightweight pack rod. It comes in a protective case that I strap to the outside of my backpack. It weighs less than 22onces and is 22. 5 inches long. I use a Plueger President searies with 4 pound test. This is a fast action rod with no sacrifices for it being a 4 section rod. I thought I would only use it for backpacking. It is now my goto rod. I am very pleased with the purchase and would recommend this rod to anyone looking for a quality ultra light fast action rod.

Did what it ’s supposed to do …………………,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
When selecting a spinning rod for drop shot fishing, consider the rod's length, action, and power. A longer rod typically provides better casting distance and control, while a medium to medium-light action allows for sensitivity to detect subtle bites. Additionally, a lightweight design can enhance your overall fishing experience, making it easier to handle for extended periods.
Spinning rods for drop shot fishing are often made from materials like graphite and composite blends. Graphite rods are known for their sensitivity and lightweight characteristics, making them ideal for detecting bites. Composite rods, on the other hand, can offer a balance of strength and flexibility, providing durability while maintaining a lightweight feel.
The length of a spinning rod can significantly impact your drop shot fishing experience. Longer rods, typically ranging from 6 to 7 feet, allow for better casting distance and line control, which is essential for keeping your bait at the desired depth. However, shorter rods can provide increased accuracy and are easier to maneuver in tight spaces, making them suitable for specific fishing environments.
The ideal action for a spinning rod used in drop shot fishing is usually medium to medium-light. This action provides the sensitivity needed to feel light bites while still offering enough backbone to set the hook effectively. A rod with this action allows for better control over the bait and enhances your ability to detect subtle movements in the water.
Yes, certain styles of spinning rods are better suited for drop shot techniques. Look for rods that are designed with a sensitive tip, which helps in detecting bites, and a sturdy backbone for hook setting. Additionally, rods with a fast or moderate action can provide the responsiveness needed for effective drop shot fishing, allowing for better control over your bait presentation.
