I love my first one so much I bought another one. I use them for casting lures on the surf. It has gotten soaked with salt water several times on my weekend trips. I mist it with fresh water and let it dry then apply a few drops of oil and it still works like new.

I bought this reel( 2500 size) and paired it with a Lew's Custom Pro Speed Stick( got in on sale for$ 90) and am using with 8 lb test fluoro. I use this set up for lightweight and finesse type fishing such as skipping senkos under docks, drop shot fishing or throwing weightless texas rigs around. Will say this reel feels really smooth and can cast a great distance without much weight. Skipping under docks is way easier with this reel also because of how smooth it is. It is definitely an upgrade from the Lew's Mach Crush spinning combo and the Lew's Mach 2 spinning combo I have. My dad is trying to get back into fishing and plan to buy him this as his first reel as well. Definitely recommend.

Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally. ... Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I ca n't fault it jigging for 5- 6 hours non stop being so
5
Mario D
I 've always been a Shimano go to for years, and always will be, but was looking for a 2000 light reel for jigging and Shimano just does not have it in this price range with a larger high gear for more torque. I was using a 2500 Ultegra but it's just too heavy for long days of jigging. Tried to use a Stradic 1000 and it works but feels underpowered and with 6lb it's not ideal. Been using the Tatula 2000 model for inshore jigging with 6lb line and I ca n't fault it jigging for 5- 6 hours non stop being so light. The only gripe is the handle has a tiny bit of play but nothing a shim ca n't resolve. I changed the handle to a black Titanium Gomexus with ceramic bearings and now it's perfect. I am critical of my reels and I have many including the 22 Stradic and Stella as well as other lower model Diawa's. This is an extraordinary reel in how it feels. The shaft feels that it's spinning on air when turning the handle, something my other reels do n't feel like. It's really an amazing feeling. The reel never has failed once in operation and is very light. Line management is excellent but need to add a washer to get the line lay to not taper on the top from how it came originally.

Used to have the last model of 10k Saragosa SW. Was too big to cast or hold all day, so sold it and recently bought the 6k Saragosa SW A. Love it. Smooth and light and casts well. That said the 6k has limited line capacity. Fishing for pelagic species off the kayak in SE Florida the 8k or 10k makes more sense so may buy one for next trip down. Hard to find at local stores so online seems like the only way to get one.

When selecting a spinning reel for finesse fishing, consider features such as a lightweight design for easy handling, a smooth drag system for better control, and a high gear ratio for quick line retrieval. Additionally, look for a reel with a sensitive feel to detect subtle bites and a durable construction to withstand various fishing conditions.
Spinning reels designed for finesse fishing often utilize lightweight materials such as graphite or aluminum for the body and rotor, which help reduce overall weight without sacrificing strength. The spool may also feature composite materials to enhance performance while maintaining sensitivity and responsiveness.
The size of a spinning reel can significantly impact finesse fishing performance. Smaller reels are generally preferred for finesse techniques as they provide better balance with lighter lines and lures, allowing for more precise casts and improved sensitivity. However, it's essential to match the reel size with the fishing line and lure weight for optimal results.
Finesse spinning reels are ideal for techniques such as drop shotting, wacky rigging, and using light jigs or soft plastics. These methods require a delicate touch and precise control, making a finesse reel's sensitivity and smooth drag system essential for detecting bites and managing light tackle effectively.
The drag system is crucial in a spinning reel for finesse fishing, as it allows for controlled line release under pressure. A smooth and adjustable drag helps prevent break-offs when fighting fish, especially when using lighter lines. Look for a reel with a reliable drag system that can be fine-tuned to suit the specific conditions and species being targeted.
Yes, a spinning reel designed for finesse fishing can be versatile and used in various fishing scenarios. While they excel in finesse techniques, their lightweight design and smooth operation make them suitable for other styles of fishing, such as targeting panfish or trout. However, it's essential to consider the line and lure weight to ensure optimal performance.
