i bought this rod 2 months ago and absolutely happy with it for$ 20. 00 did n't expect much but man this rod has been great. i live on the central coast of California and I 've use this rod in the surf for rock fishing and it hold up really well. these rod can handle good size fish. i have caught up to 3lb surf perch on this rod, 18 inch green- lings and 7lb Cabezon, freed line from thick weeds and horse fish out of rocks with this rod. I 'm a budget oriented angler and on this rod its the best use of$ 20. 00 i ever spent hands down..

I have a few surf rods, all cost way more then this one and funny thing is this one is my absolute favorite. I tell everyone how shocked I was with how good this one feels and performs and that it truly is the best 20$ I ever spent in my life. I reeled in a 10lb striper out of heavy surf just the other day with 30mph headwinds casting a 2oz bucktail. I have the 11 ’ one. If you surfcast, try this rod. You ’ ll probably sell all your others. Feels so good in the hands and it ’s so easy on my back and the casting goes so far and the lure action is so easy to handle. Buy this rod now.

In the past I had a few bad experiences with Daiwa fishing gear and as a result was skeptical of their products for years. Then a couple months ago I bought a couple Daiwa reels that impressed me for carp fishing and they were so sturdy and solid and casted so well that I use them for saltwater as well. While the reels were up to the challenge for surf fishing my Carp rods were not so I picked up 2 of these 11 Daiwa surf rods and am so glad I did. They feel so good and solid and cast beautifully. I have so much control over where my bait lands with these rods and have just enough sensitivity to see and feel even the small bites. I am blown away by the quality of these rods and would recommend them to anyone.

Use this rod primarily for spot fishing using football jigs and also finesse worms. I absolutely love the feel of this rod and especially like the reel seat setup. For the money, this is a hard rod to beat!

Sensitive enough for the finesse baits with the back bone to drive to hook home.

Frequently Asked Questions For Affordable Spinning Rods

When searching for an affordable spinning rod, consider the material, length, and action that best suits your fishing style. Graphite and fiberglass are common materials that offer a good balance of sensitivity and durability. Additionally, the rod's length and action can affect casting distance and lure presentation, so choose one that aligns with your fishing needs.

Yes, affordable spinning rods are often ideal for beginners due to their ease of use and versatility. They typically offer a good balance of performance and price, making them accessible for those just starting out. Many affordable options also come with user-friendly features that help new anglers learn the basics of fishing.

Absolutely! Affordable spinning rods are versatile and can be used for various types of fishing, including freshwater and saltwater. Depending on the rod's specifications, you can target species ranging from panfish to larger game fish, making them a great choice for anglers who enjoy different fishing environments.

The right length for an affordable spinning rod depends on your fishing style and the type of water you are fishing in. Generally, shorter rods (around 6 feet) provide better accuracy for close-range casting, while longer rods (over 7 feet) can help with distance casting. Consider where you will be fishing and what species you are targeting to choose the appropriate length.

Spinning rod actions refer to how much the rod bends when pressure is applied, which affects casting distance and sensitivity. Fast action rods bend near the tip, providing quick response and better sensitivity for detecting bites. Moderate action rods bend more throughout the rod, offering a softer feel that can be beneficial for fighting fish. Choosing the right action depends on your fishing technique and target species.
