Hard to beat this rod for fluke. Can fish 4 oz buck tails in the ml. I paired this a Shimano Spheros SW 4, 000 and 15# PowerPro Super Slick. It is a beast rod for fluke and sea bass. I would have no hesitation for mid column and top water stripers and blue fish with this. Its a hard to beat Shimano as a production rod.

The sensitivity on this rod is amazing. This rod is nothing but quality. I wish they made shorter ones to use in areas with a lot of trees. But on the pier it is my main rod.

Gift to myself
I have always wanted to a John Skinner Jig& bounce pole. I first noticed how extremely light this pole is. And its totatlly different from other jigging poles I have felt and owned. I am glad I purchased and Dicks shipping is extraordinary!! Blink of an eye its there. Great purchase and very satisfying shipping. Next I would like to see all the possibilities in a baitcaster reel.

I bought this rod back in April for a June annual trip to the Nantucket Shoals. We use heavy lead to fish fluke at 100' or better there. I did not love this stick for fluke. On a whim, I gave it as shot locally on Long Island for jigging stripers with flutter spoons. I will say hands down this is an awesome rod for that use. Plenty of action in the rod. It bends perfect for fighting big stripers. I paired this with a 5. 3 Avet reel( not sold at Dicks) and it performed great. For me it is not a good fluke rod, but really like it for bigger fishing and active jigging.

Lightweight jigging rods offer enhanced sensitivity, allowing anglers to feel even the slightest bites. They are designed to reduce fatigue during long fishing sessions, making them ideal for extended use. Additionally, their lightweight construction often improves casting distance and accuracy, which can be crucial when targeting specific species.
Lightweight jigging rods are typically made from materials such as graphite or composite blends, which provide a good balance of strength and sensitivity. These materials are chosen for their ability to withstand the rigors of jigging while remaining lightweight. Some rods may also incorporate advanced technologies for added durability and performance.
When selecting a lightweight jigging rod, consider factors such as the type of fish you are targeting, the water conditions, and your preferred jigging technique. Look for rods with the appropriate power and action that match your fishing style, whether it's vertical jigging or casting. Additionally, consider the rod length, as it can affect your casting distance and control.
Lightweight jigging rods are versatile and can be used in various fishing conditions, including both inshore and offshore environments. They perform well in deeper waters where vertical jigging is common, as well as in shallower areas where casting may be preferred. Their lightweight design makes them suitable for use in both calm and rough waters.
Many lightweight jigging rods are designed with durability in mind and can withstand the harsh conditions of saltwater fishing. Look for rods that feature corrosion-resistant components and high-quality materials to ensure longevity. Proper care and maintenance will also help extend the lifespan of your rod when used in saltwater environments.
