I have used Ski poles for 30 years and Finally shopped around and got this and LOVE it. It has already saved my life and enjoy it so much. It came with a string that match the one to secure the retractor. Replaced it with a keyring then used the string to secure it to the handle better. It wo n't get away now. The only flaw is the little string holding the retractor. Thanks for the extra string to fix it and still looks nice. The sheath also help take some of the load of my slingvest. Plus it has nothing for line to catch on while casting.

This is the second time I purchased this particular staff. You had it out of stock for a long time( 9- 12 months?). I love and still use my first one, but I wanted to make sure I had a backup of something bad happens to the first one. Just purchased these waders, and they appear very well made and rugged. I certainly hope they 're not discontinued( it almost seems that way when I read the Frogg Toggs lineup, ever since the introduction of the Hellbenders anyway) because I want to recommend them to numerous friends. They 're built so much better than the economy waders I 've been using( which after a season or so developed leaks I could n't find, and no amount of shoe goo would keep me from having a legful of water and two soggy socks, every trip). I try to be easy on gear and I fully expect to use these fine Sierran waders for many, many years. I have yet to get them into the water but if they leak there's a full- year warranty. They 're REALLY well made. I 'm just under 6' 1 '' and about 188 pounds, and the `` LARGE '' are perfect for me.( Other afffordable waders need XL for me but these are pretty true to size-- they still have room for a fleece jacket and other warm clothing, too.)

First pair of breathable waders, was hesitate buying these as I had n't heard of Frogg Togg. Ive had other brand name waders but Im extremely satisfied with these, very durable. I had to hike through some rugged territory to get to a favourite location, figured i done them in on day one. After buying a pair and being somewhat of a Guinea pig for the rest of the guys I fish with, they noticed how quickly i can put them on and beat them to the best spots on the river. They never leaked on me but I 've managed to get water in them and you just hang them upside down overnight and apply gold bond before using it and done. Now if you dont use the straps on the sides to keep them upright then you 're going to have a bad time. If you plan on going over small falls or very rocky areas then spend more on neoprene and get some decent footwear for them. This is for the casual fisherman who spots a nice spot on his way home from work and wants to get a few casts before he heads home.

I ’ ve wet waded in these a few times so far and trust me, no gravel is getting into my shoes or down into these. I could wear these suckers everywhere and be confident and cool in them, they are just that amazing. People often mistake me for a fly fishing guide when I have them on and throw money at me( that ’s what you do with guides, right?), ask for advice( my answer: throw meat, bruh), and occasionally just watch me as I ultimately mess up( no one seems to care because I ’ m wearing these hot as heck socks.). All waders will eventually leak. That's just a fact. No need to pay several hundred dollars on a pair of waders when this product is available for a fraction of that. I 'm 5'10 '' and 165, wearing a size 10½- 11 shoe. The size M fits perfectly. The bootie seemed a tad short, but it was n't uncomfortable and fit well inside my wading boots. If I can get 2 or 3 seasons out of these, I 'll be very happy. At this price point, I would n't expect more, but this brand has an excellent reputation, so we 'll see...

The store manager did me a solid and gave me an extra discount for the hassle. I 've yet to wear the boots in the stream but have no doubt I will thoroughly enjoy them. They work great right out of the box! I knocked the new off of them by fishing 7 straight days in Argentina on the Malleo. The boots offered plenty of support both in and out of the water. We did a lot of walking and I had no problem scrambling up and down the bluffs. The felts worked just fine on the slick, rolling, bowling ball sized rocks and my legs appreciated the lite weight at the end of the week. I ordered the size recommended on the Simms webpage and they fit great. I highly recommend them.

Because of the light weight the boot did n't protect me as well as my heavier, more padded boots when I stepped in between rocks but the lightweight was a real lifesaver with our 2. 2 mile hike from the river at the end of day.

I had a pair of Simms Tributary waders that lasted me 3 seasons here in the Pacific Northwest. I sent them in to Simms for repairs to the seam tape that had failed. Simms was not able to repair them and gave me an in store credit for the original price of the waders. The fact that they stood by their product warranty is reason enough to keep buying Simms. Now to the waders, the new Freestones fit is as listed but far better than the Tributary waders. The neoprene gravel guards fit tightly and don ’ t pull up while walking around. I haven ’ t had them in the water yet but expect them to perform well. The best part is I made this order on Thursday morning and received the waders in the mail Friday morning and Simms threw in a field repair kit for free. Thanks Simms and hopefully you update the Freestone Jacket to match soon.

Perfect for me, at 70 years I do not go deep anymore, the fit is perfect belt is nice and wide! Be aware that front zipper opens to help get them on! Does not open all the way, so do n't think you 'll find a tree and open zipper! They are the best on market!

Started with a pair of field and stream brand boots, lasted 2 years. Then went for a pair of orvis Clearwater that lasted only 1 year before the heel started to wear out and damage my waders. These simms boots seem like they will outlive both of the previous pair. They are so rugged and sturdy. I love that the whole boot is made of a thick rubber. The boots go so far up the ankle that you have so much support. It ’s almost like they make you stand up straight and have proper form. 50+ miles have been hiked in these since owning them for the past 2 months and they still fit and look like they are brand new. Simms will be the only brand I buy from their waders, to rain jackets, to hats. Quality all around

I bought the boots for my son who wears a size 15 shoe and thus needed a size 16 wading boot. They seem to fit him well though he has not tested them in the water yet as he has a career and family with a baby so he hasn ’ t had the opportunity to do so. I will start by saying these are the best pair of boots I have ever owned for wading and I would highly recommend these boots. They are very comfortable with excellent support and great traction. I also purchased a pack of the hardbite studs which work great. I were a size 12 shoe and I purchased a size 12 boot and they fit perfectly with my waders. I have only used them a few times so far so not sure how they will hold up. But so far so good. They still look brand new lol. I would give simms a 5 out of 5 on these. I ’ m sure there higher line boots are amazing as well but for a more mid priced boot these are definitely worth it to me.

These boots replace my old Simms Leather Guide Boots, which are twenty years old and still serviceable. Incredible boots, comfortable to hike in and the fit is great. Follow the Simms sizing guidelines and you should be good to go. Sent a photo of the boots with me wearing my Simms Guide pant waders. [ I bought these when my old boots finally fell apart. I actually bought a number of different boots to try them on and these topped the bunch in terms of fit and weight. So I returned the others and the next test was how these operated in use and the passed with flying colors. I picked a 2. 5mile hike in that had varied terrain from gravel to lots of rocks to a fair bit of scrambling to get to the good holes. These performed very well. The soles are stiff enough to support walking across the rocky bottom and not risk an ankle but supple enough to feel the terrain and grippy enough to feel secure and not slip. I noticed the weight( or lack thereof) after 7 hours of hiking, fishing, exploring- my legs and feet felt great. They shed mud and silt very well and finally they dried quickly. I 'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend this boot to anyone looking.

Fit great easy to get on and off. I have mobility and flexibility issues and was able to tie them with no difficulty. Wore them for 7 hrs in 44 Degree water my feet were warm all day long. I need a cane to walk and these bots gave me an added to my ability to wade in more rocket water.

The boot is fairly lightweight and rugged. Very simple boot without much to it. Fits true to size and is able to lace up securely. Not as stiff as most other wading boots. I like that it has the metal rivets along the eyelights for the laces. These boots appear as if they were made to last. I would recommend this boot to others. It was a tad bulkier than what it appears in the picture, but not excessively so. Fits well with a lot of good support. Easy to walk in for a long day of fishing.

I give these 5 stars as I have put somewhere around 300 days or more fishing my first pair of these and have put 20 or so on a second because the sole cracked on the first. I fish the Rio Grande in New Mexico several days a year crawling on the volcanic rock, boulders, cactus, sage and they have held up to it. I have tortured these boots and they held as long as any other guides much more expensive boots. I only wish I could get them with about a 3rd the volume as I have a size 13 B foot and have to fill lots of space with wading socks. Even still I bought a second pair.
