This one is stylish and plenty warm for short times out in mild winter weather. I normally wear a large in clothing but typically size up in coats so I bought an XL. [ I ordered this jacket for my husband- we do alot of cycling trips and always pack a lightweight waterproof jacket. He was looking for something bright, for safety, that also fit nicely. He loves the jacket and has worn it cycling, walking, and just with 'street clothes'. He's worn it in light rain, not in a deluge, but so far it is waterproof and breathable. I was concerned that the neck would bother him, but he says its very comfortable. Be aware there is no hood- which is fine for him. The windproof zipper placket is a plus, as is the longer back panel. The back pocket is 'centered' which is a plus( we do n't like left/right, and always look for a centered pocket). It has a flap to keep water out, and it is difficult while riding to get things in and out of the pocket because of the flap... but its just doing its job. Adjustable velcro, tapered wrist cuff works well. Reflective accents- Great. Would definitely recommend to a friend, and pleased with the price.

I read LOTS of reviews( 1 star review- 5 star reviewers) before purchasing, and I am pleasantly surprised with the fit of the jacket. SEVERAL reviewers stated the jacket runs large, one or two stated it runs `` true to size '', so, what is the `` real deal ''? I believe it runs pretty true to its stated size. The large is a little large on me, and the sleeves are a bit long. I have long arms( wear shirt size 16 X 34- 35 '') and the large jacket sleeves are a bit too long. So, it is NOT a `` tailored fit look '', but I personally prefer the jacket to be a bit larger to enable me to wear a sweater of hoodie underneath. The Medium size may have been a better fit; not sure; but I also wanted the grey jacket( which is almost black in color) and it has a somewhat sculptured fit in the way it was designed. I am MOST pleased. PAY HEED: Do NOT attempt to put anything in what `` appears to be '' inside pockets, as these are NOT inside pockets, they are the inside lining for the two outside access pockets. Several people `` assume '' them to be pockets only to have had their cell phones drop to the floor.

I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it. I 'm 5 feet tall and 102 pounds. The Small fits great. I can wear the jacket over a couple of layers or a single layer and it works great. While I have n't worn it in warm weather yet, I 'm confident that it will work even in the summer when I want a light weight jacket.

This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

No matter the price or claim all waterproof jackets will eventually wet out. However, why carry something heavy and wet when you can have a helium. These keep rain out pretty good, for the weight conscious, you wo n't get better. Probably the best ultralight rain jacket on the market.

I just received this jacket today and I 'm super happy with it after only trying it on! I 'm 5'11 '', about 165- 170, athletic build and the large fits perfectly! I have a little extra length in the arms, which I love because it is a rarity. I feel like I have just enough room that I could wear a crewneck underneath without problem, but it's not bulky without layers. And it's long enough that it covers my bottom! I 'm usually between a medium and a large and I would not size down for a medium in this jacket.

[ I bought this in black for my trip to Iceland and it was great! It was comfortable as a windbreaker and as a waterproof jacket. It ’s stylish and durable. Being 5 ft tall, I often get smalls but I went with a medium( even though the website recommended a large 🤨) so I could put other layers underneath it and it worked out because I could roll the sleeves up just fine. The hood is still big but I had another shirt with a hood underneath.

[ It's pretty amazing the quality and comfort of this jacket for the price. It feels slightly less like a rain jacket and a touch towards the soft shell jacket feel. My only gripe is the pit zip zipper is cold on my arms if I wear a short sleeve shirt underneath, so I usually plan to wear long sleeves to prevent that. It's a small complaint to have in order to have the pit zips. A zipper guard would probably increase the jacket price. I have 2 gore tex marmot jackets that I could wear but this one feels less like a thick, unbreakable plastic shell. This jacket is unique in that it has a breathable waterproof barrier similar to gore tex but it's only rated for 20, 000 according to their documentation. I 've read that there has been issues with some of the previous years versions and delamination. With this new 3 layer design hopefully that issue has been fixed. Only time will tell. All in all it's my go to rain jacket unless I 'm going to be in it all day long. It's probably one of the most comfortable rain jackets I 've owned. I 'm a 32 waist with a 40r chest and opted to get the medium. The fit is more standard so if I wanted a really tight fit I maybe could have squeezed into a size small. The medium fits really well though and allows for me to wear a decent mid layer if needed. One of my favorite things is the hood. I do n't plan to wear this with a helmet so it's great that the hood fits closer to my face than my other marmot jackets and it has adjustments to fine tune the fit. My least favorite thing is the placement of the pockets but as this is meant to be a more technical version of the standard eco jacket it's understandable. I do n't need to stick my hands into my rain jacket pockets anyways.

Best waterproof hoodie on the market, I borrowed by friends last season and immediately needed my own. These sell out fast. I searched for 6 months before I found a black one in my size. I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

I really like this jacket so far. I am 6' 2 '' around 205- 210 and I bought the XL. I think this fits well if not a bit long in the arms. The jacket sleeves do down a bit past my knuckles and the back extends down pretty far, but its the perfect length to still have coverage on my back if I am bent forward( biking) or if I reach above my head. I guess that's what you want in a rain jacket, although if I lose a bit of weight I fear this jacket may become too baggy. The sleeves are velcro so they can be tightened in order to not droop down past your wrists.

I purchased this specifically for the Breck Epic Mountain Bike Race. This is a 6 day mountain bike race that takes you high into the alpine for extended periods of time around Breckenridge Colorado. I needed a jacket that was light and packed down small but offered good protection and breathability during aerobic riding. This jacket checked all the boxes and I was so glad I had this jacket when the clouds opened up during one of the stages this year. The temperatures dropped rapidly and it was heavy downpour conditions for an extended period of time. Replacing an older TNF Goretex hard shell that held up for a very long time until the zippers failed. First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. Just roomy enough that layering with mid layer does n't feel bulky and stuffed. Although the armpit area is a bit snug, I have a Denali fleece so maybe the newer FutureFleece models will fit better. I have high hopes this jacket will hold up for years snowboarding here on our icy slopes. I 'm already liking the tech designed into this jacket.

[ I 've been a fan of Showers Pass rain gear for a long time, and this jacket is just my most recent edition. Very thoughtfully designed with MTB in mind. The vents keep you cool when working hard. The detachable hood is a great option, once you figure out where to stash it so it does n't get lost. The sleeves cinch up just right so you can regulate air flow or totally lock it out. The reinforced shoulders are great for those long days out on the mountain. I 'd read in one review that it is n't packable, but I 've been able to fit my medium into a fanny pack no problem. Last, the attached microfiber cloth for lens cleaning is super useful. My chest size suggested a small would work, and it did fit my chest, but my arm length needed the medium. The jacket fits trim and is not too baggy.
