The prior versions had this strange intense curve in the toe portion( perhaps that was designed to repel water during steps?) compared to an older model that is no longer available. The toe box is roomy too and the waterproof feature is great for both PNW rainy days and wet days here in the Midwest. My only criticism would be they are quite flat/smooth on the bottom so watch out for ice.

I wear an 8- 8. 5 normally in shoes, usually an 8 when while sizes only. So many reviews, and even the BearPaw site, said these run small by 1- 2 sizes, so I got the 9. That was a mistake! After wearing them a few times, they now slip so bad and they definitely packed out enough to the point that an 8 would ’ ve been perfect. Wish I could exchange for the 8, but I ’ ve worn them. They are very cute and otherwise, exactly what I want. I ’ m debated getting a second pair in the 8, but then I don ’ t know what I ’ ll do with the 9 ’s I have. I have these in tan and black, my absolute go- to winter boot. I do not wear socks, I just step in and go, leaving the laces loose.
