Bought this hat for sun protection while some facial scars are healing. I 'm not a hat wearer, but if you have to wear a hat, this is the one! Love that there is wire in the brim so I can shape the hat how I want to and it stays where I want it. Also the material keeps me cool in hot weather, and this is the highest sun protection rating out there. I would recommend this hat!

Best hat I ever had. Wife says it looks great. I did have to size up 1/4( from 7- 3/8 to 7- 5/8) since these hats are size specific and tend to run a tad small. Unless you have purchased Tilley previously, you should go into a store to try it on.

[ I love the design of this rain/hiking hat. It has a nice felt lining and is wind resistant. Although this hat protects from the sun's harmful RAY 'S, it is not meant for really hot weather due to the felt lining( meant to keep your head warm). Outdoor Research makes sun hats that are more suited to the desert or really hot climates.

[ I go to the YMCA pool and met a nice couple that each had OR hats. I inquired about their hats. I liked what I heard so I purchased one for me and my husband. I love this hat I because it fits well, protects me from the sun and it is waterproof. I wear it when doing water exercise and when riding bike. I also purchased the Sombriolet sun hat which has a wider brim, vents and a chord to tighten to my head. I use both and I am very pleased because of the functionality and quality. PS I still use my baseball cap and visors.

[ I was in the market for a serious summer sun hat instead of the cheap ones available at all of the big box stores. After much research I decided on Sunday Afternoons Ultra Adventure Hat. I received it and I 'm lovin' it! The first thing I noticed was the air I could feel circulating on the top of my bald head. Having vents on your hat are important, however, they usually allow burning sun rays to filter through. Usually I have to decide between being sunburned without a hat or hot with a hat. The Ultra Adventure hat has happily made that decision for me with its ultraviolet protection factor of 50+, including the mesh panels. No more polka dot sunburned head! Also, its so light weight you can forget you have it on. It is really the lightest hat I have owned. Its hard to believe it can do its job and be so light on your head. The downward sloping 3 ¼ ” brim shades my entire face and the cape keeps the sun off my neck, which is another great design feature. This hat gives protection to head, face, neck and ears without being obtrusive. Other features include a sunglass lock that holds your glasses in place. It works too. I have tried to shake my head to dislodge them and they stay put. Also, if taking a hat in a back pack is an issue for you, this hat folds in half at the brim and can be kept in your pocket. Without a doubt, this is the best hat on the market and worth every penny. I urge people to give this hat a try if you are shopping for the best hat out there. Since its guaranteed for life, it will probably be the last sun hat you need to buy!! You may want to buy more though as soon as everyone sees how cool it is!

This hat fits well and travels well. I can wear it with the chin strap or tuck that into the hat when I do n't need it. I have not yet worn it in the rain. I know it's not water proof( the one feature it does n't have)- I hope the water resistance is good enough for summer squalls. I wear it in my urban neighborhood as well as the lake. I like the wide brim for sun protection.

I LOVE THIS HAT! I have it in all three colors and it is my favorite hat! the brim is large enough in front to cover my face from the sun and long enough in the back to cover my neck! Just right! I wore it while geoducking and everyone loved it! I like all three colors, but I wish the Opal one had a flowered lining like the black and blue ones do! I love this hat!!! It is my favorite Sunday Afternoons and I have many others. The only negative is it runs a little small. One Size. After stetching out the elastic band by pulling on it hard repeatedly, it fits comfortably. My head measures 22 1/4 '' around. Now I love it. Good sunblock and better looking than some of the others. I bought the cream with the black band. I would buy the blue and black too but I hate the multi print on the inside of the brim. If they came in plain black on the underside like the cream, I would buy both other colors. Why the multi print? Looks old- ladyish! Please offer all colors with a plain black under side of brim!!! An addendum to my review the black hat should have either solid black trim or back and white, like black and white stripes on the band with black solid under brim for shade protection. The red multi print is aweful!!!

I have been wearing the same Sunday Afternoons Cruiser hat for five years. During that time I wore it on all of my trips in the High Sierra and through all of my training on the coastal trails nearby. It has been to the top of Mt. Whitney twice, the John Muir Trail, the Sierra High Route, the Trans Catalina Trail, a traverse of the Great Western Divide, a winter traverse of the Glacier Divide and hundreds of miles of other mountain adventures. I made a hat cover and used it as a rain hat. It has been washed after every trip, soaked in creeks, streams and lakes and used as a sit- pad on the trail. Even after all of that it held up. and only recently did it finally start to show some wear. I was saddened to see a small tear in the mesh vent start to grow into a hole. I picked up a new hat while at a local shop before leaving for a long trip this summer. But it was n't a Sunday Afternoons hat. I thought it would be fine... just another sun hat. No big deal. I wo n't mention the brand but it did not work out well. Even though it appeared to have a similar adjustment system I could never get it to fit right. Plus, the brim was always loosing shape and eventually I realized the problem. It was n't a Sunday Afternoons hat! So I ordered another Cruiser hat and it just arrived today. Right out of the box it fits perfectly, and the brim holds its shape just right. It even looks like the brim is slightly larger but that's probably due to the possible shrinkage of my old hat after hundreds of washing cycles. Thank you Sunday Afternoons!

Been wearing this hat hiking in the desert for probably five years. Wo n't hit the trail without it. Wicks away sweat very well and is very cool. I have washed this hat literally dozens of times which is why it does n't seem to have the SPF factor it once had. been getting sunburned on my head lately. So, after five years I am buying the same hat again! BTW, I bought two hats. One medium, one large. At 7 1/8 '' hat size the medium was too small. Would n't change a thing.
