The folding brim allows you to wear it anywhere. If you want to take it off you just fold the brim and stuff the hat either into a pocket or down the sleeeve of your jacket. I really wish they would make a herringbone tweed one. I think it might look great. A subdued heringbone style would make it easier to wear in less rustic settings.

This is my second of these hats, I wear them every time I run. They are very well built and very breathable. Extremely durable with a comfortable fit, good wicking material( sweat pushed to brim and doesn ’ t drip down your face, I am an extremely sweaty person), and very good sun coverage. Bill works well with most sunglasses( I have large blocky costa Del Mar ’s that fit well under the brim). Most ponytail hats( with the criss cross back or tiny opening in the rear) don ’ t accommodate a bun without having to finish styling after you put the hat on. It ’s really annoying for us girls who wear our hair in buns on a daily basis or women with 3a- 4c hair. I have 1a hair down past my knees so I wear my hair in a bun everyday. I either wear a visor but on really sunny days or rainy days I want to wear a ball cap. This is my go- to. I have two black and one white. I hope they make more colors and style options in the future. I love the elastic because it doesn ’ t pull on hair like Velcro does. Other ponytail hats I must undo the Velcro to get it on and off my head and hair. I do wish the elastic was a little tighter for us girls with smaller heads. Even better have a hide away adjuster in the sweat band so we can adjust and tighten as the elastic loosens. Please make more colors and trefoil styles!

The hat is a solid hat from Outdoor Research. It reminds me of one of my favorite hats from 4- 5 years ago from OR. The hat is a mid crowd hat compared to other older models breathable trucker hats. The material breaths well and the adjustment system is simple and easy to adjust on windy days. You can throw it in your bag in the morning and wear for happy hour beers after a ride. Easy to clean or wash off on a a rainy day. Solid boat or river hat too.
