Wow. These are awesome. I ran my last half marathon in the Pegasus trail, and I was less than impressed. I went to the Wildhorse but felt those needed more cushioning. When I started doing road races in the vaporfly, I was really hoping that Nike would do some sort of vaporfly hybrid shoe for trails and I feel like this is it! I took it right out of the box on a 7 mile adventure, with about 2k feet of vert in the first 2 miles and then a downhill 3 mile run on a fire road, before hitting 2 miles on pavement. They performed superb. They are ultralite( 6. 5oz in my size) and have a super wide toebox, which is unlike most Nike products. This means that you ’ re not gon na get any pressure on your toenails and they ’ re not hitting up against the front of the shoe. They ’ re super breathable and the carbon fiber plate definitely gives you a little propel forward. I ’ m so excited that Nike finally got a contract with Vibram because the soles are incredibly grippy. I don ’ t know how this shoe would do on super technical terrain, considering it is a race shoe, so it ’s meant to be fast and agile. But I don ’ t know if it would protect you from kicking a rock or hitting a rock with anything near your ankle. You ’ re definitely gon na feel that. I ’ m all in for taking this on my next race and super excited to see how I perform in this shoe. I love that there ’s no break in time with Nike ever and I ’ m really happy to see that they have stepped it up with their trail running shoes. We needed this!

I 've been using the gore- Tex trail shoes with Currex high arch insoles for more than a year of consecutive daily running. I was doing more trail/gravel running til late winter& switched to the track for later runs. This is my first carbon plate Nikes and I ca n't believe how much faster& lighter they feel on my feet. Of course now I want to try the vapor/alphas as well. I have really high arches and it is like they made this shoe to fit me perfectly. I may end up putting my insoles in but I had not even needed them for my first week of runs in them. I 'm definitely going faster than I 'd even imagined. Great shoes. I ’ m relatively new to road racing( having done just one half marathon this year) and this is my first carbon shoe. My warm up mile was light and breezy in this shoe and my speed work was definitely faster than normal. I struggled to run slow in these shoes for my cool down mile- your feet turnover fast in these shoes. I did have to size up a half size from a 7. 5 to 8, but super pleased after just one run. I worry that the 8mm drop is a little too high for me to use on long runs tho, but we ’ ll see.

That might have been enough to sway me, but they were also extremely comfortable, very stable for my ankle issues, and they sat a little lower on the ankle than some other styles, which helped because I have a painful spot that needs surgery. Well. I bought 4 pairs. These are everything I was hoping for. Essentially a springy, barefoot run with great energy return. All have worn well unless I try to take them off without undoing the laces, or scrape them on concrete. I wear mine daily. I have narrow feet with exceptionally high arches. As for this model compared to the Alphafly 2 and original…they improved them tremendously. They are snug without pressure, better foam profile, and the lacing system doesn ’ t untie easily. Oh, and they look cool. Final assessment- for a daily 5k- ❤️👍🏻💨

Not perfect but the best racing supershoe that I ’ ve used among VF2, VF3, adizero adios, AF3. Just received VF4s but yet to run in them. My first run in these AF3s was a shakeout before a half marathon. Was concerned as the shoes squeaked for about 2. 5 miles but that finally subsided. Have run 2 half marathons in these- each time was PR by 4 minutes. Best thing for me is the low volume toe box. I have narrow, low volume feet. The VF3s are way too baggy in the toe box for me. These shoes do “ hoof clop ” loudly like the old tempo next% trainers. Ppl always turning their head as I come up on them🤣

From what I 've been told, it is recommended that you take a stroll in new running shoes to warm them up and stretch them out a bit. However, I took these shoes on a run fresh out of the box and it felt great. This is not normal for me by the way. I 'm a flat- footed monster with wide feet and if the shoe does n't fit while I 'm running, it can get extremely painful. The Pegasus always seem to deliver for me. Neutral running shoes work the best for my flat feet and I 'm so happy with my purchase. I look forward to using this bad boy as my daily. I 'm 5' 1 '', and wear a 6. 5 in womens running shoes.
