I bought these shoes because I was going on a girls weekend and they were calling for snow. I ’ m from the south, so we are not used to snow. I wanted something warm and waterproof but also stylish. I ’ ve never bought Sorel brand before and really hesitated spending the money for something I wasn ’ t going to wear often, but I did. WOW…they are so comfortable. I have bad sciatica pain and have to get new tennis shoes for work every 3 months or my back will start hurting. We walked around in the snow off and on all day, up and down hills in these boots and my back never bothered me and my feet stayed warm and dry. Meanwhile, my friend was not wearing sorel boots and she kept complaining her feet were cold. I am now researching sorel sneakers to wear to work. I really hope that the sneakers are just as comfortable as these boots. I am normally a 9. 5 in most shoes( except athletic tennis shoes, but I got a 10 in these boots so that I would be able to wear thicker socks. I probably could have gone down to a 9. 5, but didn ’ t want them to be too tight with thick socks. I am now a HUGE fan of this brand.

I have these in tan and black, my absolute go- to winter boot. I do not wear socks, I just step in and go, leaving the laces loose. They fit perfectly with skinny jeans, rolled up flannel lined jeans, my athleta jeggings, and there is no more comfortable boot I 've ever owned, and that list includes the Ugg Adirondack III. I do n't go trapsing through my wet backyard or deep snow in these, though I have shoveled my walkway in them( I live an hour north of NYC), but for fall or winter lunch dates, absolutely. Kept them for about 4. 5 years and gave them to a friend so I could get a pair that were my actual size( a half size smaller). I had the new pair for 10 years and finally got holes in the soles. I just ordered new ones and plan to have these for another 10 years. They ’ re great for all the snow and low temps we get. I ’ ve never once had wet feet... other than from sweat! I am a size 7 but on the smaller side of a size 7 so it was fine but if you find you are sometimes a 7 or 71/2 definitely go up at least a 1/2 size.

[ Ok so first I ’ m a short girl so these are calf high so I love that! The lug sole is very thick and supportive. The inside is faux fur lined so not only is it waterproof, it ’s warm! The color is neutral and these fit true to size. If you wear thick socks, size up a half size. Otherwise your normal size will work. They have great traction so I don ’ t anticipate busting but butt in the snow. These are built to last so I ’ ll have them for all inclement weather for years.

[ I tried the Tivoli V Tall Women ’s Waterproof Boot from Sorel in the color quarry. I love the look of this boot! It ’s got style and function, which don ’ t always come together! The outside is suede and leather and the inside has an incredibly warm and soft fleece lining. The rubber sole gives support and traction which is a MUST here in northern New York during the winter months! I did find that this boot runs quite small. I normally wear 8. 5- 9 in a shoe and the 9s are a bit snug. I don ’ t think I ’ d be able to comfortably wear a thick, winter sock with them… so size up!! Overall, a great winter boot!

I have both these boots and the equivalent lace- up model( I couldn ’ t decide, so I bought both), and I slightly prefer these. The sizing is the same and both are comfortable, but these are quicker to take on and off and I can remove them without having to sit down, which is nice since these aren ’ t “ in the house ” shoes. The ankle is a bit higher which puts a slight pressure on your shin( at least when new), but it ’s not uncomfortable and on the plus side means your ankles don ’ t get cold when the wind blows. The tread on both is great and hardly slips on ice when other people are having trouble. Both shoes are warm and overall I would say the lace- ups are better for hiking where you want the most support and don ’ t mind the extra time to put on/off, but these are better for running errands or dog walking, when the convenience of easy on/off is a bigger factor.

The fit is nice because it allows for a thicker sock, but I did order my usual size. The sole has a noticeable cushion, which I like. There is a low pile/fleece lining that feels good!
