I needed a jacket for a December Sweden and Iceland trip and this jacket was perfect! I tried the SINGI DOWN JACKET M also but thought that one was a little more extreme, My needs for this trip were just being out in the elements half days. The Nuuk Parka M kept me so warm! Some days I only had a tee shirt on under it. I never needed a thermal top under it. Only occasionally an additional layer. It was wind proof and very water resistant. My only two critiques are 1) The zipper. It was difficult to latch at times and 2) Too many pockets. There are 11 and at time I had trouble remembering what was where. 10/10 love this coat though. Made winter weather a breeze to deal with!

I have now been through one full year with my Nuuk parka. It is truly amazing. Extremely high quality, truly waterproof, yet not too heavy. Extremely warm. I sometimes forego gloves and just use the parka's lined hand pockets. The hood is very adjustable with the wire frame. Very well- designed pockets, and lots of them external and internal. I sometimes forget which pocket I used for something. So, the zipper. I have gotten used to it but getting the zipper inserted and started can be a challenge, especially in low light. I do wish it was easier. Nonetheless, this parka is about as close to perfect as I have ever seen. Very highly recommended. I am considering also getting the Nuuk Lite for its similar build quality and features, to use when it is the temperatures are too high to use the Nuuk.

I 've had this for two months now and it is outstanding. To get the one awkward bit out of the way: the double zipper is weird, I 'd never used one before. It took me about a week to figure out how to use it, and a month before I could do it without looking/thinking about it. It is easy so long as you are patient and willing to learn. While I do n't see the purpose of being able to unzip from the bottom, the zipper itself is robust and I bet will last a long time. There is a long list of things to love about this jacket, so I 'll try to be brief. First, it is warm as an oven. I personally run a bit hot and love the winter, for me this jacket makes sense below freezing, anything higher and I 'll wear something simpler. It is incredibly light for a jacket this warm. The lack of bulk for something that is so well insulated is very impressive. There are so many small details the jacket gets right, too many to list, but one of them that I particularly love is the sleeve is just a bit long, enveloping your hand with ease if you want it to( I wear a L winter glove). The hood is a ridiculous powerhouse. I do n't know what the conditions would need to be for a knit hat plus that hood to be necessary. Putting that hood on a bare head is like going into a warm cocoon. In the city with the wind tunnels on a day in the teens, everything above my mid- thigh was pure warmth.

After getting through a NYC December/January where conditions ranged from 40F with heavy rain to nearly 10F with strong wind and snow, I can officially say I love this jacket. It ’s very stylish and the warm adjustable hood is a highlight. I prefer the flexibility of having a versatile “ lighter ” jacket that can get through three seasons but this jacket isn ’ t super light. When it got down into the 20s, I just layered with a light insulated vest and the jacket remained effective. I don ’ t understand some of the complaints in other reviews… two- way zippers are always a little more difficult to zip up but with the longer length of the jacket, it ’s well worth it. And no, my arms didn ’ t get cold in the jacket either.

This jacket is super high quality and is warm, waterproof and windproof. I ’ m 5 ’ 11 ”, 190lbs, athletic build. The Men ’s size medium fits perfect, with room for layers without being too small or too big. It is long below the waist so there is a double zipper to allow you to manuever into your car or a chair without pulling the jacket up to your waist. I removed the faux fur from my hood, it comes off easily with buttons. The fur just wasn ’ t my style. A few people complained about the double zipper, which is plastic( not metal), and is a YKK branded zipper. I ’ ve had no issues with the double zipper. Someone complained about the arm length. There are velcro cuffs so you can control how low you want the cuffs to go. No issues for me there. Bonus: there are two zippered hidden pockets, one on the inside of the main vertical zipper and one on the outside of the zipper. This outside pocket allows you to access items without unzipping the coat. Another bonus: there are two large pockets on the inside of the coat large enough to store ski googles. I happily store my winter scarf in there for when the temperature drops down and the wind picks up. Chest- level hand warmer pockets are comfortable and fantastic for walking or standing in the cold. I wore this coat for a trip in Seattle during the cold and rainy October season and it kept the wind and rain at bay, no wind or water got through. I ’ ve wearing this coat here in Orlando, FL for the cold winter months and have stayed quite warm and cozy! Keep in mind, this is the “ Nuuk Lite Insulated ” version so it ’s perfect for Seattle or Orlando. Fjallraven makes a warmer version called “ Nuuk Insulated ” which is probably more suited to arctic places like snowy parts of Canada or New England. I highly recommend!

I really love this coat and all the small features that make it so nice. I love all the pockets, it actually fits a 1L water bottle. I love the little fleece details in the hood, at your face, and in the hand pockets. It ’s very warm, and I can choose to layer( or not) and still be warm. I kept my normal size small due to my broader shoulders and wanting it to be able to wear a sweater without my shoulders feeling restricted. It definitely is boxy, but I don ’ t pick coats based on that, but all the other features like staying warm. I really like how big the hood is, it actually fits both my head and a ski helmet, which is nice. I also love the length of the coat and how it ’s slightly longer than my waist. I appreciate the double zipper, when I get into the car I ’ ll unzip the bottom a touch so it ’s looser which makes any tightness when sitting down go away.

Well this jacket has been a lifesaver, got me through- 20F weather with no problem, it blocks the wind and moisture. The pockets at mid level, that are fleece lined, are a blessing. I did a lot of research before buying this coat and I do n't regret it. Now it may not be as form fitting as one might want but honestly when you are warm in dead of winter, who cares. I love this coat. I bought this recently when temps were regularly in the low 20s to low 30s and with a base layer and mid layer, it was perfect. Love the pockets for storage but also ones at the waist for your hands. Nice to have the drawstring at the waist and hood for cinching. The only slight downside is the Velcro on the head to pull back the hood from drooping over your eyes is placed a little too high; I have the very bottom edge of the Velcro used to keep the fur just at the top of my eyesight, so I have a feeling at some point I may be amending this with my own attachable Velcro. Quality materials and well worth the price. So glad this works in cold temps( that I ’ m used to experiencing!) but also something I can wear in the more typically mild- ish winters I ’ m used to, which are upper 30s to mid 40s.

I use this as an everyday jacket for plain clothes LE work in PA. It is insanely warm for how light weight it is. Water repellency and wind resistance is excellent. Excellent balance between weight and warmth. Only downfall is the length makes it difficult to get to a sidearm when zipped up.

Impressive 3- 1 after wearing out my North Face 3- 1 system I have wore for years. Bought this to replace it and I am happy with what my research settled upon. Love the zip out silk liner as a stand alone lite duty jacket, a nd the shell works excellent as a rain cover. This is a great system for a beginner or an expert in the field or out on the town. Size runs true and is a little longer than expected but I did not mind the extra length to cover my hind end.

I 've had my RG foray for a little over 3 years and it's been pretty good to me. I 've mostly worn the puffer by itself in cool weather. There's little wind resistance to it, so be warned. Otherwise it's a good standalone layer on even the coldest days for short exposure times. I 've had to wear the jacket on several rainy days, and the full system during an Easter trip to the UK in '23. Scotland, Wales, and northern England are n't known for great weather in March and this trip was no exception. We endured near constant wind and periodic rain& sleet. When we went to London it rained for several hours one day and we were in it at its hardest. The fabric shed water well without getting soaked, as I 'd expect from OR. All in all, it's a good buy.

If you need to stay warm the added neck coverage can zip up to cover your mouth and with goggles will ensure you are fully covered. It ’s not heavy that I would feel uncomfortable in it, and not too thin that it wouldn ’ t keep me warm. it isn ’ t isn ’ t stiff that you feel like you can ’ t move around in it either. Love that it has a hood that ’s adjustable, and pockets with closure snaps. Material will be easy to wipe clean too. Get it!

[ This parka will allow you to be outside in ANY cold weather environment. This may be the warmest parka/coat I 've ever tried. It is very long, which provides great protection from elements such as wind, rain or ice but still allows you to move around comfortably in it. The material is very soft but durable, and seems as though it would be difficult to tear/puncture. I would also like to add that it does seem to run a little big, but it may fit better once you are layered up for colder elements, depending on what exactly you wear under it. I would likely need to size down. Overall, this parka is a definite WIN!

[ The Parka is fantastic. I am so excited to use it for ice fishing i tend to freeze and this will be long enough to cover my legs so they wo n't get cold. The fabric is very soft and comfortable, my favorite part is the puffiness of the parka to keep me comfortable and warm.

[ This parka is so warm& cozy! It feels like I ’ m wearing a puffy cloud blanket and I love it! The design is oversized so if you prefer a more fitted look I would size down. Being oversized is great for layering though in the cold winter months. I love the long parka length to keep my whole body warm. The fabric is quilted and repels water which is good for rainy/snowy climate. Overall, this is an amazing jacket but if I could change anything I wish it had a removable hood.

[ I needed a longer winter coat that I can move and walk in. This one is perfect. Comes down to upper calf( I ’ m 5 ’ 9 ”) and unzips from the bottom for hills. The coat is lightweight including the shell so it ’s not for standing still in a blizzard, but ideal for** city** commuting and longer walks. The whole collar and hood are so squishy and cozy, but slippery so they don ’ t make your hair wild and electrified. Great for an active person who doesn ’ t have the luxury of a preheated car to commute in the winter!! Bought my normal size, but size up if you ’ ll be wearing bulky/oversized sweaters etc underneath. I usually add a Patagonia 1/4 zip for extra cold days… fits great.
