This rod is an incredible value for the money. If you are trying to get high end feel, but do n't have the money for pro tournament level rods. Try one of these. I have 3 and love them for everything texas rig, punching, top water, jerk baits, crankbaits etc. When looking at reviews here you will notice that the only reviews that are n't 5 stars are the ones where people are reviewing bad shipping or something that has nothing to do with the rod itself. Regardless of the price being so cheap at 60$, it handles like a 150$ combo I just recently snapped mine but ive owned it since 2018 and have landed many many big fish on it. I ’ ve caught many bass over 4 pounds, big pickeral, big crappie, even a 10 lb catfish and it held up to it all. The one thing that got to it was a log in which I pulled back too hard and snapped it( I ’ m pretty sure I had damaged it previously to that moment) so with that being said it was my fault not the rods. I plan on buying another one that ’s how much I love this combo. I recommend it to anybody from beginner to experienced angler. Purchased this reel a few weeks ago and finally got to use it today. pulled in a 8 pound 26 inch channel catfish with ease. The clicker is awesome, i was standing 20- 30 feet away and herd it over the noise from the rapids. I do n't know why anyone would give this reel a bad review other then the fact that they do n't know how to use a bait caster. I used the 15# line that came with it and a 3/4 ounce sinker, it cast great.

I have bought six( 6) of these rods and am continually seeing the lightest of bites. Great rod for Lake Michigan Tributary steelhead. Spool with 15# braid and with a 1. 5oz bell sinker you 'll be able to get to the current seam you only dreamed of casting to. These rods catch fish!!! The featured rod with the standard long butt is the rod I recommend. The UL with the Michigan style handle is flimsy/noodle and will not cast as far because of the whip.

I have all four of the Dobyns Kaden Series spinning rods( xtra L, L, ML, M). This review is for the 7 ’ “ extra light ” trout/panfish model. Prior to purchase, I assumed “ extra light ” was somewhere between ultra light and light powered, based on the recommended line and lure weight for this rod compared to other Dobyns rods in their other series. I was a little concerned it would be too whippy, as many 7 ’ ultra lights can be. I would say that the Kaden series spinning rods, in general, have a bit more backbone than your typical spinning rods and the “ extra light ” is no exception. This rod is not a noodle, It has a nice fast tapered tip that will easily detect subtle hits from small sunfish and trout, and finesse fishing for bass. The rod will easily handle most bass, unless you are fishing in heavy vegetation. The unique action and power of this rod make this an excellent multi species rod. The rod has a high quality, comfortable, split cork grip with hook keeper below the handle. The rod blank is a clean, matte black finish and has 10 quality guides. The rod is a true fast action taper and it ’s power exceeds the “ extra light ” rating it ’s given. I ’ d recommend this rod to a friend and would purchase again myself. Given that I have all four of the Dobyns Kaden spinning rods, but had to only keep two of them, I ’ d probably pick the “ extra light ”( trout/panfish) and the M power and be able to catch just about anything I fish for.

I 've got several ugly stiks and this rod is also really nice. First of all, it's a fast action rod which means the top 1/3 bends and the rest offers really strong backbone. It's specially great for offshore/boat fishing for rockfish, ling, hamachi, yellowfin, halibut, and striper. Also I love the one piece stainless steel guide rings. No need to worry about cracked ceramic. One thing would be great is having a bottom( butt) cap like Ugly Stik jigging rod. But it's not an issue at all. Anyways, it feets good and sturdy. Definitely satisfied with my purchase.
