Perfect for me, at 70 years I do not go deep anymore, the fit is perfect belt is nice and wide! Be aware that front zipper opens to help get them on! Does not open all the way, so do n't think you 'll find a tree and open zipper! They are the best on market!

Just purchased these waders, and they appear very well made and rugged. I certainly hope they 're not discontinued( it almost seems that way when I read the Frogg Toggs lineup, ever since the introduction of the Hellbenders anyway) because I want to recommend them to numerous friends. They 're built so much better than the economy waders I 've been using( which after a season or so developed leaks I could n't find, and no amount of shoe goo would keep me from having a legful of water and two soggy socks, every trip). I try to be easy on gear and I fully expect to use these fine Sierran waders for many, many years. I have yet to get them into the water but if they leak there's a full- year warranty. They 're REALLY well made. I 'm just under 6' 1 '' and about 188 pounds, and the `` LARGE '' are perfect for me.( Other afffordable waders need XL for me but these are pretty true to size-- they still have room for a fleece jacket and other warm clothing, too.)

First pair of breathable waders, was hesitate buying these as I had n't heard of Frogg Togg. Ive had other brand name waders but Im extremely satisfied with these, very durable. I had to hike through some rugged territory to get to a favourite location, figured i done them in on day one. But with scrub brush and sliding down the side of a bank on my butt they never even had a pin hole. If these wear out id buy another pair no questions. Im 6' 4 '' 225lb and I bought 11 boot XL and lots of room.

G3 waders are just the ticket for me. High quality materials: durable, flexible, optimum weight. Adding the pants to my full wader set gives me the best option for water and weather conditions. Adding a small back pocket would be a nice feature.

The only thing that Simms makes that is actually true to size. As of late, everything I order has to be a small when 5 years ago I would have been a medium. But these pants are awesome and it feels like you 're not even wearing them.

I ’ m a huge fan of Simms clothing and these pants are great. They fit me well and are extremely comfortable. I use them mostly for sun protection( as opposed to shorts) flats fishing and on the trout streams inn wet wading season.

While I have not used them yet I will give them 5 stars for the fit so far. I paired the waders with the salt boots for striper fishing and so far I am completely satisfied with the overall fit and feel while in them. That said a little hiking and fishing in them will tell the whole story. So far so good.

I have now had three pairs of Freestone waders, the last of which was the zip model and I do believe the convenience of the zipper justifies the cost differential. I probably spend around 75 days a year in waders with around half of these being hard use days consisting of climbing over rocks, busting brush, and hiking. At this level of use, the Freestones have lasted me 2- 3 seasons before they are at the end of their service life and I find this very acceptable for the price point. All of the waders ultimately failed in high abrasion zones in the seat/crotch/between thighs due to the waterproof membrane layer becoming worn and delaminating from the other layers and tearing. This may sound bad, but after hundreds of miles of abrasion and wet- dry cycles this is all one can expect from Toray fabric in a properly fitting and cared for wader. The 4 layer Toray is fairly puncture- resistant. Despite most of the thorns and brush contacting the 4 layer portion, most of the pinholes would be in the thinner upper portion. Overall, I was very pleased with the durability and features of the Freestone line for the price point, but have since upgraded to a Gore- Tex wader. If you expect to put as much wear and tear on a pair of waders as I do, then you may consider doing the same, but for causal anglers looking for a solid and feature rich offering you 've found the best value with the Freestones.
