She has been snow boarding for 5+ years and said these are the best gloves/mittens that she has ever had... said they do n't even get wet and her hands have never been warmer and drier. I bought these mittens for a snowshoeing trip that ended up being very windy and very cold. Despite the less than ideal conditions, my hands stayed toasty warm the entire trip. These mittens are very lightweight, but kept the wind out very well. There were even a few times along the trail were I had to take them off for a few seconds because my hands we too hot! They also seem to be sufficiently waterproof as I had no issues with water getting in or soggy mittens. The leather palms are also decently grippy which was a pleasant surprise. My only minor complaints are less than ideal dexterity( though that is to be expected with mittens) and there is n't a clip included to keep the mittens together when not in use. Overall these are wonderfully warm mittens and well worth the price!

[ I finally broke down to buy proper winter mittens and chose these as I love my Hestra ski gloves. They are soft and warm, keeping my fingers relatively comfortable in 5 degree Wisconsin weather. They are a bit bulky, but I can still shove them in the pockets of my heavy winter jacket. They work well for sledding, walking around, etc. I would prefer a slightly longer, larger wrist so they can go up over the jacket to keep snow from getting in. But otherwise I am very pleased. They are certainly better than anything I have owned thus far( save for my Hestra ski gloves) for serious winter outdoor time.

I work outside throughout the winter and the hardest thing to do is keep my fingers warm when it gets 20 degrees or less. I decided to try these mittens for the times I do n't need fingers( gloves). They are excellent. I added a Hot Hands hand warmer to each mitten and they kept my fingers toasty. I could even take the mittens off, use my fingers to put some nuts on bolts, and put the mittens back on.... No problem. No more painfully cold fingers.

Finally found a pair of mittens that have a removable liner( for washing) that stays put when you put mittens on and off. Fleece liner is comfortable, not bunchy, and so warm. Cuffs are comfortable and make these extra warm. Adjustable strap makes the fit just right. I have very cold hands and these are the best mittens I 've found. Also love the tough exterior on the palm side-- seem like they will be long lasting. Hestra is my new favorite brand-- I also bought the white leather ones for cross- country skiing.

[ Purchased these for an upcoming Jan Denver trip( colder than a March Denver trip) Will update it after returning. So far seems like a nice well- made glove. Leather is soft and flexible. I used the scale to pick the size and although eh circumference meant the glove fit well, it was a little short for my fingers by a few mm, not much but noticeable. The liner is nice and seems to be able to be removed and washed separately( velcroed inside) the wrist strap is thinner than the TNF one I had before. Overall seems like a great option. Kids hate the three- finger look but I think it's the best of both worlds. Warmer like a mitt on the last three fingers without giving up on the dexterity of a thumb and index finger to grab things.
