Just bought this jacket and love it. I went skiing this past weekend on a pretty warm day, 40- 50 degrees. Just a t shirt and the jacket kept me perfectly comfortable, so it ’s not too warm on its own. And I fell in the slushy snow many times and it kept me dry all day! I am not a skier but I wanted a jacket that would keep me warm and dry in very cold temperatures and winter precipitation. The day after I bought this I took a long walk along a country road wearing this jacket over a t- shirt with temperatures in the mid- 20s( F) that soon saw precipitation in the form of wind- driven light snow and sleet. Good winter and low temp jacket. Its longer and a tad baggy/active since its made for riding, so take your normal size and layer underneath for really cold days. It's super comfortable and will keep you warm and dry. Hood is definitely a little too Raph, it's made for riding with a helmet on, so its too big for casual wear but I knew that would be the case for any snowboard jacket so it does n't bother me.

happy with this jacket. i used at mt Bachelor for four days. it was cold week but i never got cold, in fact i had to open vents. i 'm 6' 1 '' and its very comfortable fit. hood its true helmet compatible. main zipper sometimes was stubborn but manageable. i would improve the top of inside part of zipper where Gore- Tex material is touching your face/ mouth when hood is over the helmet by putting softer cloth material, maybe even this piece could be removable for often cleaning. overall good jacket.

I like the jacket for downhill( lift) skiing at Whistler/Blackcomb:- The hood covers the entire helmet and stays up. I like to ski with my hood up when it's a bit cold.- The big, wide collar to zips up to cover most of my face even when wearing a thick face covering.- It has appropriate insulation. You need extra layers underneath when it's cold but it should be quite wearable for spring skiing with just a shirt on underneath.- Pockets are where they should be and the right size. Some suggestions for improvement:- There is no place to attach a whistle which would be close to the mouth. The zipper pulls where I would normally attach a whistle are solid and not useful for that purpose. This is quite important when skiing a big mountain resort like Whistler/Blackcomb. There really needs to be a place to attach a whistle near the mouth. I may get a little loop sown in some place on the jacket.- The inside chest zipper pocket should be on the inside of the insulation rather than the outside. This would keep the phone and other electronics warmer.- It would be nice if the collar was just a bit higher, maybe by a centimeter or so. Not a big deal. Overall I am very happy with the jacket so far.

[ I 'm quite impressed with this jacket so far. It does fit a smidge big for a large but I like that because I can wear a nice heavy sweatshirt under it and still have room to be active. It has nice big pockets that you can stick a gloved hand in with ease and it covers you very well when fully zipped up. So far( I 've had it about 3 weeks) everything has been up to my standards and I truly love this jacket. It's very comfortable. Zippers seem to be great quality and it seems like a lot of thought went into it when making it. It was about 15 degrees f yesterday and I was standing on a frozen lake for about 8 hours. Pretty hard cross wind and I was warm as could be with only a t- shirt and sweatshirt under it. I highly recommend this coat for anyone looking for a nice warm coat.

I have this jacket and the Primer jacket. This one fits just as well but is a bit heavier and I like it for those colder days. While I do n't use the `` glove sleeves '' I do like them as they do help keep the cold air out of the sleeves keeping me warmer. I love the style of this jacket too. The colors are great and it's quite the good looking jacket. The breast pocket and the left sleeve pockets are great for holding stuff while skiing or other snow or cold weather activities. Pockets are nicely lined and warm.
