The design is meant for workout purposes, the sleeves have thumb inserts so they stay in place when wearing a hoodie or jacket. The fabric is so comfortable and breathable. [ This long sleeve shirt is becoming an absolute favorite of mine. It's extremely lightweight, silky smooth to the touch, and comfortable. I love that there are thumb holes on both sleeves! Since it has been colder lately, I 've been wearing this under sweaters and jackets and the thumb holes help keep it in place and prevent the sleeve from riding up. A big `` thumbs '' up for me. The sleeves loosely hang around the arms to provide plenty of stretch, which I love, though I also know this design may not be for everyone. This shirt has held up in various everyday activities so far and kept me warm without overheating. To round it all off, the reflective logo on the chest adds a nice finishing touch to the shirt. I am strongly considering about getting another one!

I have purchased several of these, the ones that fit me the best are these with the snaps, Tamiami II. I wear the extra small, and I 'm a 34C. I wear these over athletic tank tops with a lightly padded sports bra( medium), I like that it's a perfect fit when it's buttoned up. If I was going to wear it over a bulky T- shirt or a push up bra, I may size up to a small, but I find them to be too big under the arms unless I leave it open to wear like a jacket. Other styles of Columbia button up long sleeve styles fit different, this one is fitted like an hourglass with a little stretch in the material. I have wide shoulders for my tiny 5' 3 '' 115 lb frame and this fits perfect in XS, other styles I need a small for my shoulders only. If you 're going to leave it unbuttoned then it does n't matter if it's a little big. I wear XS in most Columbia clothes esp with no sleeves, small in some items with sleeves. I wear XS in JCP Liz Claiborne& Worthington tops for reference. Major note- even though there is a notice that the colors on the site may be different than they are in person, I honestly expected the granite purple shirt to be more purple( it looks dusty lilac online). In person, it just looks medium gray. I put it up next to a gray T- shirt and it does look slightly purple- ish. Next to anything purple, it looks dirty. I 'm very disappointed in the color and will be returning that one for a different color. You would be better off just buying gray. This color will not go with anything except maybe black and white. So far, all of the blues and greens and variations of the two mixed together like turquoise and teal have all at the very least been complementary to each other. Some items I have purchased with the same color name have actually matched perfectly! But having a color that looks dirty is not good. I purchased the white one and it matches everything and is a great color for sun deflection in the Florida 8 month summer season. You should get definitely get the white one.

Be warned it's cropped and runs small. It's oh so flattering and super soft!! It's like a soft hug in all the right places. I usually wear a xs in tops and ordered a small.
