[ I love this jacket. It's a perfect weight to layer warmth underneath, or keep yourself cool on warm rainy days. It fits beautifully. I prefer light colors for visibility in stormy conditions, so I got the white/tan one. The internal drawstring at the waist is flattering. The hood WILL NOT blow down in wind. I wish they did n't use so much velcro on the front tab covering the zipper, but I do like the low profile effect of it, so it's a wash. I am 5' 8 '', 125# and I got the small.

I am so happy I got this coat for the torrential rains that are happening in California right now. I usually wear a medium... sized up to a large and I am glad I did. The sleeves are long enough to hide my cold hands and I 'm able to wear layers underneath for warmth. It still looks good. My L covers my butt( 5' 6 '', 34DD, short arms, 145 lbs.) I think Colombia is the only one that makes a fleece lined raincoat and I absolutely love it for cold rain. You CAN layer in other rain coats but when you just want a quick trip to take the dogs out in the rain in the cold weather nothing beats a warm rain coat when you don ’ t need a heavy winter coat. i use the Helium Rain Jacket in addition to a 700 fill goosedown esp. when i ride out into wilderness. while it will not protect against sheer downpours, it will if you 're under a tree! plus, in conjunction with the puffer i stay super warm and dry while packing small and light. imperative on a horse!

If you are not familiar with Columbias's sizing, always buy a size smaller than what you are on top. It's like they are clothing for lumberjacks and samoan football players. Besides that, wore it in the backyard forest walking through the swamp the other night and it breathes very well, does not stick to the skin when raining and has become my go to fall weather jacket. I am absolutely in LOVE with the color and warmth of this jacket! Just finished a Utah 10K wearing it, the weather started at 35 degrees with partial Sun and wind, and ended at 41 degrees. I wore this jacket with just a t shirt underneath, and stayed at the perfect temp the entire run!!! Omg I need more of these babies! I loved that I could fold up the hood, and all of the pockets. My last favorite detail is the hidden red buttons, as they are so cute and such a small but fun pop of color that can be hidden:)

I REALLY like this jacket. The material is so light for a rain jacket/wind breaker. I wouldn ’ t recommend it in heavy rain, but lighter rain yes. But it packs down so small it ’s easy to stick in your vest or just wear with the backpack straps on it so it ’s there if any wind or storms pop up.

This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

I needed a jacket that would perform in a variety of extreme environments when going inside was not an option. This jacket filled this role perfectly and has kept me dry while exploring the north Maine Woods more recently while hiking through the cloud rain forest in Costa Rica. On a cool rainy day, you can keep warm with all the vents closed and a puffy underneath. While in warmer humid weather, just open the massive vents on the sides and keep dry while still being able to `` breath '' and stop sweat from soaking you from the inside out. It is very weight efficient, easily packed, and well cut for the active user. The chest pocket is also a favorite feature of mine to safely store a cell phone while on the move yet keeping it easily accessible.

The new 3L Fabric is a huge improvement over the older Foray, it's robust, has just enough stretch, and overall is impressive. I was somewhat hesitant as they moved away from Gore but seeing it in person I am 100 percent a fan and it's better in every way. The only improvement, and OR please make this happen, is the branding. Make a Blacked out version without the contrasting logos, that would put this jacket as the best among the best.

I bought this in the early summer bc I was in desperate need of a new rain jacket( my old one was literally crumbling apart!). This past weekend I assisted in the rescue 7 people who were capsized in a pontoon boat. I dove into the water with phone and all in the pocket of this jacket. After the scary event ended I took my phone out of my pocket and was shocked to still see the phone screen activated! The phone still needed about 7 hours to completely dry out and let me charge it but it ’s completely fine now. This shell has proven a perfect addition to time in the elements where protection is critical and weight is a factor. I have used this on a several volcano ski missions this past summer and spring. It packs light and provides the summit protection needed when wind is ripping and body temps are dropping. Marmot allotted a good amount of pockets without going overboard and the pit zips provide ventilation that allows you to tune your protection on the move without having to stop to layer up or down. When it comes to rain protection, it's hard to beat Gore. It also vents well for active pursuits.

Returned it and ordered the S. have n't fully tested it yet in cold winters, ca n't wait to do so. It would have been nice to have a zippered pocket inside. The hood is a bit small if you want to use it for ski, but it is not a 'ski' jacket.

I have been wearing this in the Bay Area in the 40s. Great jacket. Breaths well. Very light. Wind resistant, does fine in drizzle. No experience in really cold or real rain. There are no clinch cords at the bottom, though, and so I need a light vest to fill out the jacket. As for really cold, I was able to put a another layer of ghost whisperer under and, I assume, I am good to go for really cold, too. I should mention that I am a senior and am bundled up when the kids are running by in shorts! Again, this is a really light jacket and feels wonderful to wear. Packs well, too.

[ I 'll admit I do n't know too much about this type of shell jacket. I usually wear a heavy commercial fishing style pvc jacket when I 'm working and a frogg toggs jacket when I 'm backpacking. I also have an old North Face shell that I found in a snow drift, nobody asks me for change when I 'm wearing it. So needless to say I 'm really impressed with this shell. I ca n't believe how lightweight and packable it is. The pit zips are generous and the material itself seems very breathable. My favorite part is the cut. I have a long torso and this thing sure does keep rain out of the plumbers crack. The sleeves are long enough that you can gasket your gloves. The torso has an athletic cut, I feel less like a sail flapping in the wind compared to when I wear my other gear. The pockets look weird, sitting high up on your ribs like cat nipples, but I think they make a lot of sense. They work really well with a pack belt, staying accessible and providing less material to chafe. It's a thoughtful design for the outdoorsperson, dissing these pockets is admitting to being an athleisure poser, too delicate for a heavy pack and too self- conscious for sensible cat nipple style gear storage.

[ First off, it ’s really lightweight and doesn ’ t restrict my movement. Love the huge pockets that extend above the backpack ’s hip belt- a nice place to protect my phone and other electronics in the downpour while still easily accessible. Got into a really heavy rain while on top of a mountain, barely had time to put the jacket on, everything was soaking wet in less than a minute. The part under the jacket remained completely dry. The shell also has nice big pit zips for ventilation, which are easy to open/close with one hand. Not all jackets can boast this feature

[ Very happy with jacket. I prefer three layer waterproof fabric as opposed to a two layer with mesh inside. It just feels better to me, and I enjoy that about this jacket. I use this for everyday wear and alpine or telemark skiing with a layer under it. I wo n't be backpacking with it as emergency rain wear, so I like a little heavier fabric, and this is perfect. It just hangs better on your body and is more durable. Hood is well made and fits well. Also, subtle chest logo is tone on tone, at least in orange color. I do n't like being a billboard for a company's branding. Very classy. I would like to have an inside pocket and a small left sleeve pocket for a lift pass, but pockets add a lot to the cost of a garment, and this piece is priced well, so no complaints. I bought this specifically for big wall climbing and it was perfect for doing El Cap in a day( first trial run with the jacket!). It's light and packable, taking up minimal space in my day pack and was super easy to take on and off throughout the day between belaying and climbing. Pretty warm with a sizable hood. Pockets are roomy enough for an iPhone. I do wish it had a draw cord and packed into the pocket with a reversible tab for a carabiner( you can still pack it in the pocket, you just have to awkwardly clip to the zipper). One downside to the lightweight fabric is it's extremely fragile — I tore several small holes in the arms while mantling onto a granite boulder at the end of the day( the other down jackets I 've worn never had this problem, but they were much thicker). I also notice the feathers like to poke out of the fabric rather often, and have to frequently pull them back into the jacket. So: handle with care!

Measurements: 5' 6; 160lbs; M/8- 10 top with B cup; L/10- 12 bottoms Comparing the GW2 in Mojave Tan to UL in Golden Hour The UL:- lighter( duh)- runs big compared to the GW2- sheer, it looks splotchy/dirty- hood fits looser than the GW2- no draw cords- better elastic at the cuffs compared to GW2- SLIGHTLY brighter gold than Mojave Tan, beautiful color when the dark feathers are n't smudging it up* based on color alone, I would choose the UL. Mojave Tan has some pretty strong army brown vibes GW2- fits me better( even with fleece and base layers underneath)- sturdier, I am less afraid of brushing against a branch- draw cord around hips- Tighter fit hood( just around the face, the actual room within the hood seems the same)- Muted gold, pulls a little green Overall, I am going with the GW2. The fit is nicer, I am more worried about snags and holes than I am about saving a couple of ounces, and I miss the draw cord in the UL. It makes me sad though- that Golden Hour is so gorgeous! I would recommend this to only the ounce obsessed- it is a good jacket but not a HUGE upgrade form the GW2 to need the latest iteration.

Bought this for cycling in the light rain. Nice fit and weight. I 'm 6' 3 '' and 200 lbs. and a large is a nice slim fit. Packs down small and is easy to stow. Not 100% waterproof, but kept me mostly dry on a 3 hour downpour bike ride. If you 're on the husky side, you might size up to an XL.
