The Best! Period. Light. Warm. breathable. Durable. For windy cool days in Spring, crisp days in Fall, cooler days in summer to combat mosquitoes. For race days when you need long sleeves at start but the option of rolling it around your waist to finish in singlet. Bought 1st one at a race expo 8 years ago- most frequently worn jacket I ’ ve owned. 1000 washes late. Still going strong! This is# 2!

I was looking for a lightweight jacket that was n't too bulky but would provide warmth and protection from the wind and rain. This is the perfect jacket. I am very happy with it and would definitely recommend it. I 'm 5 feet tall and 102 pounds. The Small fits great. I can wear the jacket over a couple of layers or a single layer and it works great. While I have n't worn it in warm weather yet, I 'm confident that it will work even in the summer when I want a light weight jacket.

Love this jacket, I have 2 TNF in the women's and i have a problem with the sleeves being too short, I read a review where someone had purchased a men's jacket because it was sold out in women's, and that the men's jacket worked out better due to the sleeves being longer. I am so glad that I came across that review. I love this jacket and the sleeves are perfect

[ The jacket was exactly what I was looking for. It's warm enough for those chilly mornings, light enough to wear on a Summer day, and just enough to serve as a wind breaker. It's a wonderful jacket. One minor suggestion... although there are two external pockets with zippers, it would be the perfect jacket if there was an internel pocket. Otherwise, i would highly recommend this jacket to someone looking for a lightweight jacket.

[ I tried this jacket on in a store and decided to order online( they were pricey). I ordered a size larger, as I want the ability to layer with sweaters underneath. [ Bought this to replace a worn- out Venture jacket. This thing performs and has features that are beyond its value pricing like pit zips and more. I have traveled all over Alaska from Bethel to Nome to Barrow and Ketchikan with confidence that if it is pouring rain or even snowing, this jacket will keep me dry and( with fleece underneath) warm. It's easy to stuff in the bottom of a day pack or behind the seat of my pickup. I 've owned versions of this jacket for more than 20 years and have only been disappointed when it wears out.

Yes, this jacket is lightweight, but that ’s what I needed! I bought it to stuff into my bike bag. It can be stuffed into the smallest space, yet pops out wrinkle free. It ’s great as a windbreaker, and as layered clothing. It has no hand pockets, but there is a zippered pocket in the chest. I ’ m normally a large, but in this jacket the XL fits best.

This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it's in it's pocket turned carry pouch, it's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs. I always have one on my boats, whether sailing or rowing/kayaking and have been glad to have it hold in my body heat on a chilly airplane, or as a paper thin layer for skiing, both downhill and crosscountry. Worn as a mid- layer it makes a fleece slip on effortlessly. One of the most versatile pieces I own. I have both hooded jacket, and a no longer available pullover.

[ This poncho packs to half the size and the weight is about 10% less than any of the inexpensive ponchos that I have used in the past. I 'm more of a weekend warrior, so I tend to hit the trail when weather forecasts are fair, but I always want to bring some kind of rain protection. I like ponchos because they cover my pack, which also allows more airflow and ventilation. I do n't know that I will ever use the tarp function, but I like that this poncho has eyelets for use as a temporary shelter.

Best rain jacket yet!. Durable, good movement with kits or gear underneath. Has some versatility in pockets. Also used to double up as a Snow shell for a spring Colorado Snowfall. I really like the hood, no so large that it cuts your vision off but still sheds water off your face like a hat.

The jacket fit my normal sizing( didn ’ t need to size up) with enough room to add a layer or so during the colder months. Initial inspection ended with all seems, zippers and surfaces being in good condition and well made. It withstood the test of heavy winds and salt water leaving nothing to be desired. Additionally if you appreciate a rain jacket with a tall zip up to the neck and comfortable hood, this is a good option.

I 've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I 'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I ca n't disagree. What I was n't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I 'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46 '' chest( 6' 4 '' and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This is n't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say `` you 'll never be able to layer with it! '' Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah- this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

Tested out the new UL Premonition during my training in Salt Lake City and my recent Makalu expedition. Two of the best features of the jacket are its weight and packability—it is incredibly light and easy to pack into my backpack, especially when carrying a lot of gear and equipment up to higher camps. I got this jacket a month ago and since I ’ ve used it during heavy rain in the city and during winter mountain climbs. I can say I ’ ve had no issues with the waterproofing. In the winter mountain, this jacket became irreplaceable for me. Being so light and breathable is such a game changer- I sweat much less, less need to stop for water and I feel much less exhausted. It ’s packing small, so it ’s super easy to fit it in the external pockets of a backpack, so you don ’ t waste any unnecessary time- game changer when you are in the winter mountain. The pockets are awesome and the jacket is super comfortable. I was worried about the Velcro on the cuffs, since a lot of jackets will loosen and let air in between the cuff and your gloves, but the Velcro works super well and gives you a solid locked- in feeling. Last but not least, it beats off strong winds like it ’s nothing. This feature helps you dress lighter, move faster, and get tired less. This jacket improved my performance per unit of effort in the mountain, which is essential since most mistakes happen out of exhaustion. Really happy about my purchase!

The single best jacket I 've ever owned. The fabric is simply a slam dunk and the technical design is on point. Enough room for movement and the sleeves are long enough to use it on a bike aswell. I would like to see a jacket with the cut and features of the Skogso Jacket in the Eco- Shell fabric. I would then have a jacket to wear all year, anywhere.

[ Used this for a two month long hike- Camino Frances plus Fisterra in spring of this year( 2024). Phenomenal. Good for wind and great for rain. But this coat is so light I found it also worked for sun protection. It packs into its own pocket and is very light weight. The bright orange makes it very visible which helped in hiking situations with low visability. Can not say enough about how I love this coat. Ski Instructor and Hiking Camino Leader

Backpacking requires the forethought to bring only what you need as weight becomes a significant factor with extended trips. This Helium jacket is a game changer when it comes to weather protection. The weightless feel and bombproof protection it provides makes it a companion on not only backpacking trips, but day hikes, after dinner walks, bike rides and simply dinner outings when weather is sketchy. I 'm 5' 9 '' and the Medium is perfect for me- allowing for a midweight layer underneath.

[ As an outdoor enthusiast, weight is a critical factor in my gear selection, and the Men's GORE- TEX® Mitre Peak Waterproof Jacket( 2024) delivers impressively in this regard. This jacket offers exceptional waterproofing and breathability without unnecessary bulk, making it a perfect companion for alpine climbing, hiking, or any technical outdoor activity. One of its standout features is the highly functional pocket design—the spacious, elevated pockets remain accessible even while wearing a harness, which is a game- changer for climbers and mountaineers. The adjustable helmet- compatible hood provides excellent coverage without limiting visibility, ensuring protection against harsh weather. Additionally, the underarm ventilation zippers allow for great airflow, preventing overheating during intense activity. Overall, this jacket balances durability, weather protection, and lightweight performance perfectly. If weight matters to you as much as it does to me, this is an excellent choice!

[ Marmot has a long history of making high quality outerwear. And this history continues with Mitre peak Jacket. I have been a fan of Marmot since my first jacket( the Alpine Light Jacket) which has been with me for most of my outdoor adventures into the backcountry and high altitude peak. I still remember when the 10, 000 meter parka was the one of the best pieces of equipment a mountaineer could have for protection at very cold, high altitudes. Not sure if they still make that. Back to the review of this jacket. I like the fact that it is does not come with a liner so this makes it more versatile for layer. Not sure of the durability for and longevity as the material is lighter and therefor repeated use with pack straps and harnesses may wear stress areas out as they are not reinforced. I have yet to find rainy enough day where the jacket has not performed. Hopefully this waterproofing with continue over the life time of the jacket. My biggest issue now with the latest products from all makers( Patagonia, The North Face, etc) is the delamination of the gortex material after a few years of use. Hopefully they have resolved this issue. Looking forward to many years of use with this jacket. Check in with me in a few years, I will let you know how this performed

OR has continued to impress, this true to size( large) fit perfect with room for insulated layer. Light weight, soft fabric that keeps me dry. I bought this with the intention of it being my main backcountry ski jacket, and not for rain so I ca n't comment on how well it is waterproof. But personally, it is somewhat of a heavy jacket for rainy warm weather. I loved it today in zero temps with a thin fleece hoody and wool shirt on underneath. I was a little concerned about how the stiff, tall collar would feel on my face, but it was great coverage and roomy enough so my neck gator fit underneath it just fine. I sized up in this jacket because I need to layer and went with XL which meant it was fairly long and covered my bum, but still surprisingly close fitting around the hips which is common for me in OR tops. It is a great weight for cold backcountry ski days, lighter than my older OR Skytour shell but heavier than the Motive. I am posting a photo. Love the color too. In the photo I also have on the insulated Snowcrew ski pants which were toasty on this bitter cold day!

Newbie Novus Owner
[ It's pretty amazing the quality and comfort of this jacket for the price. It feels slightly less like a rain jacket and a touch towards the soft shell jacket feel. My only gripe is the pit zip zipper is cold on my arms if I wear a short sleeve shirt underneath, so I usually plan to wear long sleeves to prevent that. It's a small complaint to have in order to have the pit zips. A zipper guard would probably increase the jacket price. I have 2 gore tex marmot jackets that I could wear but this one feels less like a thick, unbreakable plastic shell. This jacket is unique in that it has a breathable waterproof barrier similar to gore tex but it's only rated for 20, 000 according to their documentation. I 've read that there has been issues with some of the previous years versions and delamination. With this new 3 layer design hopefully that issue has been fixed. Only time will tell. All in all it's my go to rain jacket unless I 'm going to be in it all day long. It's probably one of the most comfortable rain jackets I 've owned. I 'm a 32 waist with a 40r chest and opted to get the medium. The fit is more standard so if I wanted a really tight fit I maybe could have squeezed into a size small. The medium fits really well though and allows for me to wear a decent mid layer if needed. One of my favorite things is the hood. I do n't plan to wear this with a helmet so it's great that the hood fits closer to my face than my other marmot jackets and it has adjustments to fine tune the fit. My least favorite thing is the placement of the pockets but as this is meant to be a more technical version of the standard eco jacket it's understandable. I do n't need to stick my hands into my rain jacket pockets anyways.

Initially thought the chest pockets going outward( zips to open the pockets are on either side of the midline at chest level) was a bad design because I couldn ’ t put my hands in to keep warm. But I realized I can cross my hands hehe. So 0 complains!!:)

[ I have tried many rain jackets but rarely do they beat Fjallraven( even some hunting brands). I Love the big, adjustable hood and adjustable wrist. The material is not paper thin and cheap. I 'm 130lb lbs. and have this in Small and Med depending if I need to layer.
