[ The Nike Swift Women's Repel Packable Running Jacket comes out of the package sleek and ready to go. The sleeves are roomy enough to slide on without fighting a watch band and fall just past my wrists. A comfortable elastic sits around your wrist and does a pretty good job of keeping the sleeves in place while not feeling tight. The fabric of this jacket is soft to the touch and extremely light, providing a comfortable wearing experience that does n't weigh you down. Even though the fabric feels delicate, it proved itself perfectly balanced-- able to keep me comfortable in the winter chill at the start of my workout and manage to not leave me overheated at the end. The jacket fit like a glove, yet I still felt like I had plenty of room to move without anything riding up or feeling too tight. There was enough room to be able to wear anything from long sleeve to just a sports bra without issue. The hem is asymmetrical, going from shorter in the front to a slightly longer back hem line. I loved this because it still allowed use of a running belt while keeping my lower back more comfortably covered. And did I mention the hood? Light, but providing full coverage so this jacket can demonstrate the full force of its water repellant ability. The hood was my favorite feature. I feel like hoods often do n't cover enough or stay on well enough as you move. This one had no issues with that. Oh, and the front pockets zip, so you do n't have to worry about anything flying out while you 're moving. There's a lot to love in this jacket, and it even includes a whistle tucked into the lapel that you can use when you 're running alone or need to call out to your running buddy. I do n't have any complaints, but if I had to change one thing, I would lengthen the sleeves and add thumb holes. I did feel like the elastic kept the sleeves down pretty well, but thumb holes are just that extra security I love when I run. Overall, this jacket fit great, looked excellent, felt comfortable, and kept me covered and at an ideal temperature from the start of my run to the end.

It has a great design that is thin, breathable, and has front pockets. It also has reflective print on chest, arms, and back. Along with breathable flaps on chest and back that make it easy to run in the wind or rain. I also like the addition of the hoodie which had a toggle string to tighten to your liking. The fabric what breathable yet soft and had a flowing feel to it. It surprisingly can hold up to elements like wind and rain when running short or long distances. I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. This jacket arrived several weeks ago and has been great for everything I 've thrown at it! It has kept me warm, dry, and cute on rainy commutes to work, mulching my garden, and taking my dog on a field trip to our local forest preserves. It has been comfortable in temps as low as 35 and as high as 65 or so for me, personally. I love how lightweight it is, and that is compacts down if it warms up during the day and I need to pack it away for my commute home. It is also roomy enough for layering underneath, and I enjoy the big pocket for storage in the back. 10/10 would recommend.

I am obsessed with the Bessie Packable Jacket. It ’s everything I didn ’ t know I needed — lightweight, incredibly warm for how thin it is, and so easy to travel with. I love how it packs into itself and even turns into a pillow( seriously genius for flights or road trips). The fit is relaxed but still flattering, and the cinch at the waist gives it shape when I want it. I ’ ve worn it in rain, wind, and chilly mornings, and it holds up perfectly. The recycled materials are a huge plus — I feel good wearing it in more ways than one! Also, shoutout to the pockets — there are more than enough and they ’ re actually functional. This jacket definitely rivals my Patagonia nanopuffer in warmth and comfort. The color is a perfect shade of brown IMO. I 'm 5'10 '' and it hits right at my waist. I wound up going with a size small because it's rather boxy( I 'm usually a M/L). Great travel jacket that packs down into nothing. Even wore it out into the rain and I stayed remarkably dry. Granted, I was running from the car to the store, but enough that I would 've felt it had it not been water resistant. I would definitely recommend. This brand is new to me, but I 'm now excited to see what else they got cookin'.

I 'm an avid hiker in Colorado. I never go on a hike without this jacket. It's lightweight and super easy to pack. It keeps me completely dry on the trail and works great as a windbreaker as well. Very easy to layer on colder days. I started with just black, and have purchased two more colors since my first one 5 years ago. I 'm 5' 11 '' and 195 lbs, and the medium works well for me.

I ’ ve had two of these now over the last 5- 6 years. I do a lot of saltwater fishing on the Northern California coast and this involves actively wading up to my waste in saltwater sometimes. This jacket combined with my waders keeps me dry very well. The first one I had the zipper failed on it after about 4 seasons of heavy use in saltwater so I can ’ t fault the product for that since just about anything will fail in saltwater. I bought a new one and am back out there staying dry and warm. These are really light too, I can see them as a budget backpacking rain shell option as well. I use mine for backpacking also but by ultralight backpacker standards this is not an ultralight jacket. That said it will keep you dry and it is a great wind breaker too. Can ’ t beat the value.

There are countless details that set this rain jacket apart from other brands. First, it's remarkably comfortable. The inside liner makes the jacket/skin contact feel like a normal jacket as opposed to the discomfort plastic feel of other brands. The jacket is quiet, and hardly has any sound typically associated with rain jackets. The hood works wonderfully, fits well around my head, and does n't block my vision when looking left and right. The sleeve design around the wrist even allows for you to check your watch with ease, but effortlessly slides back over based on the well positioned elastic. The sleeves do n't ride up while casting a fly rod either. I waited to write a review until I 'd spent some time on the water fishing with it as well. The jacket performed equally as well in a 5 hour down pour while I waded a NC trout stream as it does walking around town. I had no restrictions fly casting, and landing fish. I remained dry after fishing for 5 hours in a constant downpour, and it breathed well the entire time. I enjoy all of my Free Fly products, but this jacket is my favorite product yet. If you have any need for a quality rain jacket with extreme comfort, range of motion, and legit rain resistance then this is a must purchase.

Received a little late due to shipping SNAFU, but Elliot at FFA had another in the mail quickly. Once I received the jacket, I was well impressed with its quality and impeccable attention to detail. I can not overstate that, as there was not an errant thread, fabric blemish, or ill- bonded seam whatsoever. A word of caution to those who might overthink the sizing- it is definitely true to size, so plan accordingly if you intend to layer underneath. 50 degree downpours or light rain are what it excels at. Much colder, and you ’ ll be dry and cold, as when properly fitted and NOT up- sized, you won ’ t have enough room to comfortably layer. Mine fits exceptionally well with no binding or hiking up during practically any activity. It fits best with a T, a polo, or a normal poly/cotton collared shirt. Much more than that underneath- cautiously consider oversizing. I say this because the arm length and cuffs are perfectly matched to the size- at least for me. I prefer a perfect cuff length with the necessary true fit on my torso, than longer cuffs that would expectedly come with an up- sized torso. My tape measurements are: Chest( nipples)- 41 ” /Tummy( bellybutton)- 39 ” /Hips( pelvis)- 37 ” /booty- 38 ”. Weight: 162lbs. Height: 5 ’ 9 ” I ’ d have hoped for this type fitting information when I purchased a somewhat expensive and purpose- built rain jacket, but that is not realistic given the variance in body types. So if anyone has similar sizing to me, you can rest assured that my measurements are indicative of the fit I have reviewed. One thing I can ’ t stress enough though, the cuff length is spot- on for me, at the size jacket I purchased( L). They extend just past the wrist bone, and my nape to wrist bone measurement is 31. 5 ” I ’ m hugely satisfied with the jacket, and feel that the value is within the range of price……. perhaps slightly lower by 7- 10 percent by some, but that is based on the individual.

This rain jacket is super impressive. When it comes to traveling, camping, hiking, or even exploring new cities, countries, etc. You ca n't beat the portability of this jacket. It is super thin and light making it easy to roll up and store into any type of bag weather it's a backpack, purse, or even large fanny pack. Even for being so light and thin, it easily stops water from getting through. I 've had zero issues with any type of moisture getting inside either due to prolonged periods of water exposure or leaks through any seals and stitching. I will say, because it's so thin, in colder weather, you would need a warmer layer underneath to act as insulation. That being said, you might need to get one size up than normal so it can fit over any layers you need. Also, if you are traveling through any thick brush or scraping up against rocks, you need to be careful about scraping or snagging any sharp/rough surfaces too hard to prevent any micro/macro tears in the material. Being so thin, it's not super durable, but it's not very easily torn either. Overall fantastic product and highly recommend

Good winter and low temp jacket. Its longer and a tad baggy/active since its made for riding, so take your normal size and layer underneath for really cold days. This is a simple, very lightweight windbreaker, that packs into its pocket. It's somewhat water resistant, and dries quickly, but not waterproof. It's in my backpack for every hike, and my carryon whenever I travel. It weighs almost nothing and when it's in it's pocket turned carry pouch, it's about the size of a 3 x 5 card and about an 1 '' thick. It even fits in a purse, a fanny pack, and many hydration packs. I always have one on my boats, whether sailing or rowing/kayaking and have been glad to have it hold in my body heat on a chilly airplane, or as a paper thin layer for skiing, both downhill and crosscountry. Worn as a mid- layer it makes a fleece slip on effortlessly. One of the most versatile pieces I own. I have both hooded jacket, and a no longer available pullover.

There are so many great features like the fleece lined pockets, the hood adjuster, the outer hook for hanging, the cinch toggle inside. I really appreciate the thought that went into the design. Bought this parka and did a ton of research on other brands as well. I wanted the most bang for my buck and I feel that this parka had the best quality and features for the cost! I love how it isn ’ t super tight on your body and overstimulating with other layers. It fits really well with thick base layers or thin layers underneath and greta for both cold and mild temps. Very durable thus far!

I love this coat. I bought this recently when temps were regularly in the low 20s to low 30s and with a base layer and mid layer, it was perfect. Love the pockets for storage but also ones at the waist for your hands. Nice to have the drawstring at the waist and hood for cinching. The only slight downside is the Velcro on the head to pull back the hood from drooping over your eyes is placed a little too high; I have the very bottom edge of the Velcro used to keep the fur just at the top of my eyesight, so I have a feeling at some point I may be amending this with my own attachable Velcro. Quality materials and well worth the price. So glad this works in cold temps( that I ’ m used to experiencing!) but also something I can wear in the more typically mild- ish winters I ’ m used to, which are upper 30s to mid 40s.

The Abisko fleece is very light and great as a base layer. I regularly wear this around the house on chilly days and as a base layer in the cold. The fit is great. I typically hover between a medium and a small. I went with the medium. It fits a little loose for me which I do not mind.

If you are a former military member and are familiar with the standard issued waffles we were issued for out winter gear then this might feel familiar to you. It feels lighter weight and more breathable while maintaining its insulation properties. And neat fun fact it ’s also 100% recycled. I ’ m a man of many shapes and sizes and the jacket really hides the fact that I was a military man. The thumb holes are subtle enough to be missed but once found it makes the jacket feel like one long fingerless glove. If I had kids I pass this to them. For now, this is mine.

Halfdays really delivered with the amount of pockets in this jacket! It's comfortable and surprisingly light weight while still being warm enough for spring hiking. The fabric seems very durable and( fingers crossed) has n't stained. It does run big, but I liked the look so I stuck with my normal size. As long as you do n't have a broad back, you could definitely size down.

I 'm a big jacket person, I have one for just about every weather situation and this is my go to in the spring and summer. It's really effective at blocking wind while I 'm biking, I 'll layer a fleece if it's chilly. During the summer it's the perfect weight for cool nights and keeping bugs off of you without overheating, it has light water resistance so this is definitely not a `` rain jacket '' but it does dry super fast if it gets wet. It packs down very small and also the perfect travel companion.

I purchased one of these in Copenhagen 4 years ago, and have worn it on the beach in Oregon at least 500 times. There are no signs of fraying, material is still strong, zippers work great. If it rains, or excess wind demands it, the hood fits well and tightens with clever elastic locking adjusters. The length is just right for me, not too long like some. Chest pocket is perfect for keeping my wallet/ID. I have collected rocks over the years and just put them in the side pocket, and they are still strong. Light weight but excellent in windy conditions. I do n't need to replace it but after 4 years it's looking a bit faded so I ordered another one in a different color and it's on the way. Expect the new one is the same great jacket. Thank you Fjall Raven. In my entire life I do n't think I 've worn a single jacket so much, and I 've never taken the time to go online and praise a piece of clothing but this deserves that.

[ Wore this on a cruise to Ireland& Scotland. It repelled wind& light rain and I found myself reaching for this jacket often. The fit is nice, I 'm 6' 4 and the XL is nearly perfect. The sleeves are little long( my size is 36/37 so this is probably 37/38) but I 'm ok with it. The front/back length is passing for my height but if the back was longer( like they do with some jackets) it would be even better. If you 're 6' 2 to 6' 3 I think the length would be perfect on both sides. The body is roomy but not baggy, and fortunately not slim fit like some. It's not the best in the cold and the material has a cool feel against the skin, so I wore this with a L/S wool baselayer. Mountain grey is a killer color, my favorite from this brand thus far. I really like they style and I got several compliments.

This jacket served me well for 10 years of steady use every winter/fall and I finally replaced it. The quality is superb, the new Pertex Shield on the shoulders/arms gives it a much more durable feel. It has a premium feel in the hand and is a nice blend of weight/durability. Fits great with layers underneath, but also works well as a mid- layer under a shell. I 'm a fan of the new color options too. In summary, this is a durable, lightweight, packable and versatile jacket that does its job in the back- country but transitions seamlessly to the front- country. Highly recommended.

I like the cut of OR jackets. I am 6 ’ 1 ” 235. The Helium Down does not disappoint regarding warmth. It has that soft down feeling with added structural integrity where one might carry a pack. The gusseting in the arm allow for a full range of motion without much rise. I have long arms and can still draw out without the jacket tightening too much in the back. If for some reason I found myself in dire need of more warmth I could wear it underneath a jacket or shell because it could compress enough to almost be a base layer and not sacrifice its loft. At which point I am certain to roast.

Love that this uses a fairly high fill power down( 800+), making it warm and space/weight efficient. I have higher fill power items like MH ghost whisperer UL( 1000 FP), but most UL garments use fragile fabrics and do n't have any weather protection, so they 're really limited to cold, dry weather. The Helium Down Jacket has weather resistance in key areas due to the Pertex Diamond Fuse panels, which makes it more versatile. It wo n't be a great outer layer if you 're expecting heavy rain, but I wear it by itself in a light mist or under a shell if heavy rain is expected. The Pertex panels are a little crinkly, but not as loud as some reviews suggest. I found the sizing to be accurate. This is quickly becoming a staple of my wardrobe from fall through spring.
