I 've bought three pairs of these pants over the years. They are slim- fitting, a bit stretchy, and lightweight. Good for summer. They have some nice details like the pockets and cuff snaps, although honestly I do n't use either of those much. They are very slim fitting, so make sure you do n't order them too small in the waist. My grandson loves these pants. He wants to wear them every day. My only complaint is the snap button. The first pair it broke off, but Carhart replaced them, no problem. The snap is very difficult to open and close, so it can be hard for a child to do. It was hard for me to unfasten. It's great that there is a waist adjustment inside. It will allow a child to wear them for a long time.

They fit slim, especially in the thigh/upper leg but I did n't find that they restricted movement at all. I used the sizing table to figure out what my regular size was and the conversion worked fine. I look forward to testing them on longer hikes and in more inclement weather soon!
