Have had a Manduka ProLite mat for…10 years! That ’s incredible, it really is. Problem is, I ’ m a sweater when I work out. I would slip and slide all over my old mat. Upon discovering rubber mats, I went to Dicks and was surprised that my local store only carried the Calia brand in general for yoga. Fortunately they had a great display of unfolded mats, and I was able to feel and see the selection. This one caught me, I LOVED the texture. Well, it works, and amazingly at that! LEAGUES above the ProLite in terms of grip. Now, I do find I still slightly slip when I ’ m overly sweating( and this will be right at the end of an hour hard workout mind you). But overall I am in love with this mat and have used it daily for 3 months. Highly, highly recommend. Other brands with this design charge more and it feels like the same thing.

This Manduka mat is really worth the price since it has enough cushioning, not so much that makes one lose balance but good for a head stand. So, I decided I needed a new yoga mat because the one I had was too thick and therefore not easy to carry around. I saw this kit and I thought it was a great price for everything that it came with( but to be honest, I bought the kit for the yoga mat print that I wanted because I already have a strap and the blocks). What a great product! I really do n't understand why people complain that the mat is too slippery. There were times in class, in balance poses that required me to take a foot from the mat that it was actually `` challenging '' to make the mat unstick from my foot, seriously! If I could suggest something, it would be to have two blocks as part of the kit instead of just one considering that many beginner poses that require inversions or balancing might need two blocks instead of just one. But aside from that, I wish I knew about the kit before I purchased my other yoga stuff.

I ’ ve had these for 3 years in my basement for my rack and are durable to an extent. I wouldn ’ t recommend slamming 45+ pound dumbbells on them unless they are rubber. Doing deadlifts 225+ pounds is fine but I would say support it with shock tiles. I would recommend sweeping or vacuum it often since it ’s common sense to keep the floors clean. I haven ’ t had much problems with them besides the strong odors but that ’s what RUBBER smells like when it ’s still fresh. Matter of fact, that ’s what a gym smells like. Overall, best mats I ’ ve used so far.

I 've been using this mat for a little over a week and I love it! I experienced a little bit of slippage during the first use or two but after a few wipe downs with a damp rag and continued use, I have n't really had any other problems. The print is beautiful and the thickness is nice also. I 'm new to the practice and this is my first mat but I am very pleased with my purchase!
