I 've washed and dried it multiple times according to the care instructions, and I 'm impressed that it has maintained its shape without shrinking, stretching, or developing any pilling. The fabric still looks and feels like new. I typically wear sun sleeves when golfing, but I recently started experiencing irritation under my arms from the sleeve bands rubbing. This top solved that problem completely while still providing the sun protection I need. It's breathable and lightweight, yet fitted enough to layer comfortably under a golf polo. At the same time, it's stylish and comfortable enough to wear on its own. Overall, this is a high- quality performance top that delivers on comfort, durability, fit, and sun protection. I would absolutely purchase it again and plan to pick it up in additional colors.

But I did have to size up to an extra large which I have to do with all Carhartt space layers for their shirts. But I like the fit and I like the materials. I wear them at work and it's a lot better to sweat in these than it is a cotton shirt. I believe these are the newer models also as they do n't have the sewn on Carhartt tag. Nonetheless they are still quality shirts but are a little on the pricey side at$ 50 each. But still worth it in my opinion.

Super comfortable first wear while on a 2 day backpacking trip. It made a great base layer and then when temps when up it was nice on its own. And a layer of sun protection with long sleeves! Odor control was evident, but control being the key word-- definitely not absent. I recommend this shirt and look forward to using again on the next hike and for my trip to the Tetons next month( as well as trying as a base layer for snow skiing!).

This shirt is a great baselayer and kept me warm in- 25 F weather. My only criticism is that the sleeves are a bit long so they bunch up slightly at the elbow or forearm. Otherwise, this has been great for working in really cold weather. The underarms are a slightly different material that allows for more airflow and moisture wicking and the inside is a soft, fleecy texture. Would definitely recommend.

I received the thermal heavyweight shirt as part of a Carhartt Crew Field Test, but I can honestly say that this shirt is necessary for everyone living in a cold climate. I find that the sizing is true, and the small works well for me. The shirt handles being laundered very well, without shrinking or pilling. It has retained it's shape. I wash in cool water, and I use fabric softener in addition to laundry soap. The Carhartt heavyweight poly wool shirt is extremely effective in keeping me warm, and blocking the harsh Iowa wind. I tend to stay cold, so this is saying a lot. I love the shirt, because it is fitted. It works well under clothing, without bunching up. I appreciate the `` thumb holes '' on the sleeves, since this prevented the sleeves from riding up while I put on my sweatshirt. Great quality, superior warmth, and comfort.

If you are a C cup or bigger, you might want to size up, but for anything smaller it should work. It's odd that this was long enough but the matching pants are not as I 'm very proportional. I got this primarily for motorcycling in colder weather. It works great. I can wear this with my jacket and jacket liner and I do n't have to wear other layers. I 've only used it so far riding in 50 degree weather but it was warm enough I had to turn it down or off. I usually wear a large but wanted it to fit tighter so I got a medium. The medium fits great. I would say the medium fits me perfect where normally I would wear a large t- shirt or long sleeve. Not too tight but not loose. Have n't had long enough to know how long the battery would last but have used it for a couple hours switching between high and medium and still have battery left. Would definitely use while skiing, etc

[ For reference, I purchased a Medium. I ’ m 5 ’ 4 ”, 128 pounds, pear shaped, so, smaller on top, curvier on bottom. I got the black which is opaque. I wear this baselayer weight for cross country skiing when it ’s above 30 degrees or so. Smartwool varies in size for me, these are not extremely fitted like some of the 1/4 zips so go with your normal size.
