These are great! They keep me warm in the coldest weather. I ’ m always cold so these are a blessing for me because they keep me warm and they are not bulky. They wash up great.

By far the best and warmest product you can buy. The sizing accurate. Spend the money and buy this instead of the cheaper, knock offs that do not perform as well.

These are amazing! We love them. ❤️ My dad got my husband and I both a set for Christmas like 10 years ago or more. They are still in perfect condition. We use them for hunting, playing in the snow or anytime we have to be outside for long periods of time in the cold. When I go hunting and it's super cold or wind chill of- 15. I wear mine, my husband's and my under armour sweat pants under my hunting bibs. No need for a heater at all. My son told me he needed some bigger under layers so I automatically ordered him this set. He is going to be so excited when he gets the Christmas morning. If you have multiple children you definitely need to get these. They are such a good quality and will last for years if they are taken care of. The adults sizes are pretty unisex in the bottoms. The woman's top seems to be a little more fitted for the breast.

[ Love the quality and softness of these wool undergarments! I got medium top and bottom and they are true to size. I hike alot in the winter in the Smoky Mountains. These garments kept me cozy and warm! Love the mint green color also!!!

[ These are great and probably my favorite pair of base layer bottoms. They are cozy, not too tight and breathe nicely. I ’ d like to buy another pair but my size is out of stock.

[ I am an avid walker and must have my daily jaunt or I will go bonkers. I have hiked in all weather from the cold sub temps of Minnesota to the rainy and windy winters of Texas. Having warm thermals are essential. Searching online reviews, Smartwool keeps popping up. My wife and I bought two sets each of tops and bottoms and she just simply loved them instantly When ever the temp dips she gleefully pulls on her Smartwool NTS and a shell and she is out the doors. The material is just the right thickness and the seams are well hidden. It instant warms the body and as claimed, do not smell after a few uses As for durability we have to wait and see. We have other woolen garments and we can see these products appear to be durable. No regrets buying them but regrettably the color choices are limited due to stocks available.

These are just as nice as the Day Leggings and feel very similar. The material is slightly heavier; maybe not quite as soft as the Day Leggings, but still extremely comfortable. I feel there is a slight increase in support or compression, but they are definitely not high compression leggings. It is going to be a toss up on which ones I like better. Free Fly leggings are THE BEST! You can not go wrong purchasing this new style or the Day Leggings.

5 Tanya G.
Absolutely the best legging I ’ ve ever had. 5 ’ 3 ’, 149 lbs, purchased size large. Great fit!

5 Sara H.
Fit great and live the slightly thicker fabric than the other version

5 Ashley M.
Love the fabric. The high- waisted fit is so comfortable! It has not been super cold yet where I live, but I do anticipate them doing a great job keeping me warm enough for winters in Virginia. My favorite go- to leggings, for sure!

Looks super cute, love the matching set- definitely size up, I 'm usually a medium but got a large and it fits perfectly!

5 Anna L.
I have been struggling to find comfortable base layers and finally found these! They are amazing! So comfortable and warm. The fit is true to size, could probably size down if you want a little more compression. Now thinking of replacing my ski pants with ones from here!

5 Hannah F.
These leggings are amazing! I ordered them to try as a base layer for skiing, but also just to have another pair of leggings for ski trips( travelling, apres, etc.). I prefer a lighter, merino base layer- these were a bit thick to ski in for my liking BUT! I absolutely love them for a post- ski lounge/apres sesh or for traveling. They are compressive yet perfectly giving and the high waist sucks you right in. I also love where they hit- I normally wear a 25 '' inseam and these fit right on my ankle bone. Not see through at all, and they wash really nicely( I hang dry). I only wish I was able to order these in the espresso color from last year!

5 Gabriella G.
Love this so much, such a flattering fit, so warm, love the high waisted style. I will defiantly be buying more

5 Mariana G.
This is my 3rd pair of base layers from Halfdays and I 'm obsessed. They 're the perfect stretchiness while still being compressive-- a bit more like activewear than traditional base layers which I love. The mock neck and sleeves have a super cute ribbing detail. I 've also worn them for running outside when it's cold out and they 're perfect

[ These leggings are so warm and fit so well! They are super cozy and kept me warm all day skiing! I love the white stitching, it makes the leggings SO flattering.

5 tarynashh
so happy with these base layers!!! what i love most is the quality, sustainable materials. they are breathable and do n't make me sweat, but keep me warm. they stay put and i do n't have to adjust at all. the contrast stitching is super cute too.

5 brynnsadventures
[ If you have a small waist but thick thighs or bum, definitely size up. I usually wear I size 4- 6 in most leggings but find in merino layers I have to size up because it's tight around my quads, these are similar. I received a size medium, which fit snuggly, but if I was going to order them again I would size up to a large. The quality of these leggings is amazing! So cozy and comfy!

5 sumho

Love, love, love. Sized up for a more comfortable fit and they ’ re perfect. These have become my go- to base layers for cold ski days in the North East. Love the color options as well.

Frequently Asked Questions For Ski Base Leggings

Ski base leggings are specially designed to provide insulation and moisture-wicking properties, making them ideal for cold weather activities like skiing. Unlike regular leggings, they are often made from materials that retain heat while allowing sweat to evaporate, ensuring comfort during intense physical activity. Their fit is typically snug to provide a base layer that can be worn under ski pants.

Ski base leggings are often made from synthetic materials like polyester or nylon, which are known for their durability and moisture-wicking capabilities. Merino wool is also popular for its natural insulation and breathability. The choice of material can affect warmth, comfort, and stretch, so it's important to consider your specific needs when selecting a pair.

For optimal performance, ski base leggings should fit snugly against the skin without being overly tight. This close fit helps trap warmth while allowing for freedom of movement, which is essential for skiing. It's also important to ensure that the waistband is comfortable and does not dig in, as this can affect your overall comfort on the slopes.

Yes, ski base leggings can be versatile and worn for various cold-weather activities beyond skiing, such as snowboarding, hiking, or even casual wear during winter. Their moisture-wicking and insulating properties make them suitable for any outdoor activity where warmth and comfort are priorities. Many people also wear them as a base layer for everyday winter outfits.

When selecting high-quality ski base leggings, look for features such as moisture-wicking technology, thermal insulation, and flatlock seams to prevent chafing. Additionally, consider leggings with added stretch for better mobility and those that offer a comfortable waistband. Some may also include features like odor resistance or quick-drying capabilities, which can enhance your experience on the slopes.
