I have had Burton covert and cargo pants for years because it was what I thought was good. These 686 pants are waaaayyyy better in every way. I always wear XL and that is what I ordered knowing the reviews all say they run big, which they do, but I wanted a baggy fit. I use impact shorts and knee/shin guards when I ride. Replacing an older TNF Goretex hard shell that held up for a very long time until the zippers failed. First impressions is that the number of pockets and their positioning is exactly the type of thing you did n't know you needed until you have it. Feels light and offers good maneuverability. Just roomy enough that layering with mid layer does n't feel bulky and stuffed. Although the armpit area is a bit snug, I have a Denali fleece so maybe the newer FutureFleece models will fit better. I have high hopes this jacket will hold up for years snowboarding here on our icy slopes. I 'm already liking the tech designed into this jacket.
