I wear it in the pool to keep the sun out of my eyes, and it dries quickly and the chlorine hasn ’ t caused any discoloration. I am normally not a Hat Person, but this one is terrific! I ordered the size medium in the color opal, which is a a light off- white. It's very flattering in every way-- size, fit, color. A well made hat, just a bit too small for my head. I would buy it in an extra large if you made it in that size. I like the brim, just the right depth for protection, without interfering with my collar. I have another one of this style that I purchased several years ago, and it is still my go- to hat for the out- of- doors.
