I love this weighted vest! I use it to do both house chores and on walks. The 20 lbs feels like plenty of weight and I am easily able to remove the sandbags if I need to lighten it. I like the way the velcro wraps all the way around and it can be taken off from the side, or front. The material is very sturdy and seems like it would be more expensive than$ 50- I found this to be a great deal! I bought this product a year ago. I have used it with my( 2. 5 year old then and) now 3. 5 and my oldest son now 5. The are easy to take on and off. The feature of removing the pads slowly is awesome. My youngest has all the pads in and my oldest has two pass removed now and is learning to swim great. It keeps them a float quickly rising them to the surface if they jump in the water. It does n't shift on them at all when tightened appropriately and also not invasive if they are n't in the water. They do n't mind walking around with it on. I love that they can be independent in the water at this age.

If you are looking for something that completely holds child up and out of the water with no attention from you, then this is not for you. However, if you are looking for something to help your child actually learn to swim on their own, there is literally nothing better- or even close!!! I have been looking for this exact product since last summer, as I used it for my 2 older children and there is nothing even close to as good to teach a child to swim on their own. They are now 16 and 14, and could swim 100% independently at 2 and 3 thanks to this product. Flotation in both front and back, unlike traditional bubbles, but without arm flotation, like the newly popular puddle jumper, which restricts arm movement to correctly `` swim '' properly. Puddle jumpers are great if you want a ton of flotation, but too much if you want to actually teach to swim. But this Swimways `` vest '' allows you to slowly and gradually reduce the amount of flotation by removing 1 pad at a time from the front or back or both. You can control if they are leaning too far forward or back by adjusting the number of pads. By removing 1 or 2 pads at a time, you can reduce the amount of flotation gradually, so your child can get used to less help and having to do more to stay afloat and learn to swim until eventually swimming on their own. Other devices go from 100% flotation to 0- where this goes 100% to 90% to 80% and so on down to an Independent Swimmer!!!!

[ I got this vest for my daughter mostly because she is often cold when we do outdoor activities such as walking, biking or hiking. The vest is very flattering, made of durable material and the zipper front makes it very easy to put on and take off. It is true to size. I got her a size Medium and it fit quite well. She is 5'10 '' and her bust is 36DD and she was able to wear the vest without bra; she said it was very supportive but pressed her bust in. I like the reflective safety strips which make me feel secure when she goes out for a walk during the evening and dusk hours. It is stylish and can be worn by itself on warmer days or under a sweatshirt on cooler days without appearing bulky or restricting mobility. I washed it before she wore it because it had a strong chemical smell. I hung it to dry and it maintained its shape and color well. Yet the odor was not completely gone after the first wash. She wore it for the first time this past weekend, under her coat, while shoveling the 12 inches of snow we got in our area. She was very impressed on how warm she felt the entire time. This was remarkable because she often complains about being cold! I can not attest to the slim down claim while using this vest as this is not the purpose I got it, but it does maintain warmth during activity!

The design and color scheme is incredible, materials are great but the fit is loose so if you want a slim fit you need to size down. The size Large fits more like an XL so I had to get a M. If you 're into the oversized boxy look then get your regular size.

The DSG running vest arrived right in time for the late fall/early winter temperature drop of Wisconsin. Perfect weight running vest for below freezing mornings. Does excellent job blocking cold winds and keeps my core warm. I have used this vest for many early cold mornings and have been extremely happy with the breathability. Vest has extremely large pockets for those who like to carry phones, nutrition packets, etc. Only thing I would change about this vest is adding some added reflective areas. The small strip in the back reflects very well, but some in the front would be good. I have overcome this issue by just using my clip on safety light and it stays mounted well on the pocket area. Definitely recommend this vest for cold weather runners.
