This beanie functioned wonderfully in every setting, it is well- made and kept me comfortably warm for hours, even in 9 degree weather. I purchased this hat about a month ago, and I wear it everywhere every day. It's a light weight hat, but keeps my head extremely warm but not to a point where I need to take it off. I can wear it indoors without my head sweating due to the amazing Merino Wool, or outside in the harsh Minnesota deep freeze we are experiencing and my head remains a perfect temperature. I bought this beanie in various colors because unlike my wool hat, it is washable( washing machine) and foldable. It saves me$ from buying wool cleaners. This is by far the best winter beanie out there. One thing to note though, is they are n't messing around when they say 'hand wash only'. It will shrink! I can verify that does n't mean the hand wash cycle on your machine either;). Altogether a great purchase, I learned my lesson and bought another one to have for years to come!
