This is my third pair of Xtratuf boots, I have a tall pair and a regular deck boot pair--- I 've been wearing them for at least 5 years. The boots I have are great but not the warmest and I 've always wished I could find a warm Xtratuf boots. Well these boots are IT! With a midweight wool sock, these boots kept my feet warm when it was pretty dang cold. And I love the color scheme, girly without looking unserious. Love LOVE this boot!!! Fleece lining is perfectly cozy and warm and wide enough, exactly what i was hoping for as my feet run cold. Super easy on/off, unlike some ankle boots. Recommend sizing down if 1/2 size- I 'm a solid 7. 5 with wide forefoot and went for 7, perfect fit even with thicker socks, never pinches through the forefoot and toe( always an issue for me). Also love the rubber wedge on ankle exterior, for kicking off using toe of other boot without wearing down the heel seam.

I do n't mind these boots but they feel more like a winter boot than a rainboot. They are quite heavy for a rainboot and they rub on your lower calf/upper ankle if they 're not snug. I wish I would have went down a half size or worn thicker socks. You must wear taller socks so it does n't rub on your skin. Overall, they are a great boot and it's almost like they have a dual purpose; rainboot and winter boot.

I have bad sciatica pain and have to get new tennis shoes for work every 3 months or my back will start hurting. We walked around in the snow off and on all day, up and down hills in these boots and my back never bothered me and my feet stayed warm and dry. Meanwhile, my friend was not wearing sorel boots and she kept complaining her feet were cold. I am now researching sorel sneakers to wear to work. I really hope that the sneakers are just as comfortable as these boots. I am normally a 9. 5 in most shoes( except athletic tennis shoes, but I got a 10 in these boots so that I would be able to wear thicker socks. I probably could have gone down to a 9. 5, but didn ’ t want them to be too tight with thick socks. I am now a HUGE fan of this brand.

This newer model has a wider footbed- which is great for more stability, and an improved sole which is a great redesign as well. Love these boots only wore them once but they are comfortable and different. It is a cross between a sneaker& a boot. If you are between sizes size up a 1/2 size. I am a size 7 but on the smaller side of a size 7 so it was fine but if you find you are sometimes a 7 or 71/2 definitely go up at least a 1/2 size.
