I bought these in white in XL and then in black in L. I like pants loose at the waist and need a long rise. I also got the short length, which sit at my instep( 5' 4 ''). The black ones in the L fit better as to the rise and volume of the legs, but I prefer the looser waist on the XL. I wish designers would give up the hourglass myth of women's bodies: If one needs a L for the hips, one probably does not have a 32 '' waist. The drawstring makes these wearable. Both are comfortable, though, and very light. So I will probably wear the black ones out more, and keep wearing the white ones around the house. Very comfortable style and fabric. I find myself wearing these most days in the Florida warm temps. Very nicely made, as well. I marked `` runs small '' because the elastic at the waist, IMO, should be about 2 inches larger. This is my first free people purchase. They are very oversized. For reference I am 5 ’ 5 and around 145- 150lbs and I ordered a medium. I wanted the oversized look, but I could ’ ve gone with a small. I think because these are not meant to be high waisted, the waist is a lot bigger than it normally would be for a medium. I do have to pull them up really high and tie them tight with the drawstring, otherwise they will drag on the ground( So, good for tall girlies!). The fabric is light weight, which is what I wanted for the summer time. I also like how they look, just wish the fit was a bit better. For comparison, I also ordered the oversized Nike sweats in a medium and those fit perfect size wise. These are bigger than those. Overall, I ’ m happy with the purchase and am glad I got them on sale.
