The concept for the Air Max was first introduced at the 1978 Honolulu Marathon in Hawaii with a shoe known as the Tailwind. The Tailwind featured trapped air that created functional cushioning, but Nike Air engineers struggled to feature the trapped air in the design. In 1987 young architect turned shoe designer, Tinker Hatfield, cracked the design. Inspired by the Centre Pompidou, a modern art museum in Paris, Hatfield designed the Air Max 1 with visible air in the midsole, thus bringing forth one of Nike’s most iconic designs.

What makes the Air Max so special? It’s all in the air. The idea originated from Frank Rudy a NASA engineer who first captured high-density gasses in a urethane air bag. He then brought the idea to Nike in 1978 as a revolutionary cushioning concept. A blow molding process fills each air unit with dense gasses that can't leak from plastic. These units are then placed in the shoe’s midsole. These iconic air cushions provide support and comfort while enhancing performance and versatility. They are perfect for the athlete or for everyday use.

Love Them But Difficult Putting On!
Bought the shoe, really love it but it’s so difficult getting it on. 😌
Is there seem to be wider size?
I will give it a 10 for its beauty.
Putting it on is what tears it down, foot hurt after trying the first foot.
If I could get my feet in without all the hassle it would be comfortable. Couldn’t wait for it to come but disappointed.

Cute But Too Tight
The sneakers were the cutest ever, but due to my right foot having been broke and plates placed in my foot, I couldn't bend my foot enough to place it in the shoe and I untie it and did everything in my power but it wouldn't loosen up for my foot to get it in, so I had to return.

I purchased the black pair and after a few months the mesh started to tear. I took them back received a new pair and it started to tear again. Nice shoe but the mesh I can do without and for the money I spent was a waste.

Great Shoe
Comfy, fun colors, fun style . Run a half size small i feel like. Wear at home before wearing outside incase you need to exchange. Lesson learned!!
