I am giving 4* because the front hip pockets are awkwardly short. I have a normal sized mobile phone and it wo n't fit in those pockets( or the rear pockets) vertically. Great all- around shorts! I love the fabric of these—the nylon has a crisp( almost stiff at first, then softening over time) and substantial feel. These hold up to moderate abrasion better than drapey polyester shorts. They ’ re perfect for rock climbing. The wide leg opening and stretch makes them great for lifting or running too. I ’ ve even gone swimming in them( just note they are unlined). I love the 5 '' inseam, but I do wish the front rise and back rise were an inch higher. The embroidered logo is a nice touch.

You will not regret buying these shorts! I needed to refresh my running collection and ordered several different styles of shorts to try. I returned some much more expensive shorts( very popular brand name) to the store and decided to browse around while I was there. I am so glad I stumbled upon these shorts! They are the most comfortable and best fitting I 've ever owned. The knit waistband is perfection-- does n't dig in, is high- waisted enough that it looks cute with crop tops. The body the shorts are a very lightweight material-- if I had to dig for a negative, it's that they are SO light and airy and sometimes when I 'm running at the gym, I 'll just do a quick glance over my shoulder to make sure I 'm covered. I always am, but they are that breathable and light. But not see- through or sheer. I did buy black and the dark red and ca n't confirm the see- through qualities of the lighter colors. For size reference, I am 5' 6 '', 138#, a 6 in most pants and I bought a medium. I probably could 've gone with a small, but I do n't like things to cut into my waist. The waistband does n't stretch out with wear, so I think the size is perfect.

These are the training shorts I 've always wanted. I generally hate shorts with liners because the elastic in the leg holes is irritating and annoying. I usually opt for linerless shorts and athletic boxer briefs. These are everything in one. The benefit of these shorts is that the outer shorts are attached to the inner liner. The pockets on these shorts stays put. I have another pair of Nike running shorts and the pocket liner pokes out the bottom when I put my phone in there. So annoying. The only thing I 'd change is the advertised phone pocket in the back is much too small for my iPhone Max. Otherwise these are perfect.

I bought a pair of these when they first came out a couple of years ago and always saved them for my `` dress '' shorts. I always looked forward to wearing them as they are the most comfortable shorts I have ever owned. I finally decided to replace my lined Breeze shorts with the active breeze shorts because they are just so much more comfortable than the Breeze short. The extra comfort comes from the difference in the waste band. The old Breeze short had a typical stretch liner but the new active breeze short has more of smooth band where you do n't feel the waist band against the skin, you dont actually know you are wearing them.

[ Didn ’ t realize the only part lined with Merino is the waistband( and front pocket lining feels similar); the rest is synthetic. Guess that ’s what “ Waistband lined with Merino… ” means- doh! These are my new favorite running shorts. The length is just right. They are made a a material with a little stretch and allow free movement. Their front pockets are as roomy as they could be in a pair of running shorts. There is a zipped pocket on the right side big enough for car keys and a few run gels, gummies or waffle. The waistband is very comfortable with a flat draw string.
