I 'm using these for kayak racks on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. They really fit nicely into recesses under the hood that will keep them from sliding in either direction. Same in the rear hatch although the straps could be just a bit longer for the rear hatch. The rubber tubes are rather large diameter, about an inch, which makes for a really secure hold.

Thule fully supports their products. The Wheel Strap was easy to purchase on the site. It took me less than 15 minutes to find and buy.
