I 'm using these for kayak racks on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. They really fit nicely into recesses under the hood that will keep them from sliding in either direction. The nylon is thick, abrasion resistant, super bomber, and I feel comfortable taking a lead fall on them. The nylon used gives stretches a little, putting more dynamic parts into the climbing equation and giving you a( very) slightly softer fall. Since the slings are wider than usual, I use sport quick draw carabiners so that the sling lays flat in the end of the carabiner. I just bought a new vehicle and needed a rear tie- down solution for my kayaks. These are simply awesome. The car's got a lift gate, and these slip through the openings next to the top hinges. The tie off is rock solid. So much easier than crawling under the car looking for a tow hook and when you 're done, you just remove them. Simple, effective, and absolutely worth the price.

I purchased these to use on my Fiat 500C as it does not have any existing tow hooks. Two for the front that fit nicely inside along the sides of the engine area.
