[ I began straying from mountain biking recently and got a Gravel bike. Wanted a lighter and more vented helmet and my Giro mtb helmet has always fit perfect and been so comfy. This is the same way! Consistent sizing, no hot- spots or areas where the cinch system pinches or stabs my head. And it is light enough and vented enough that on my first 2 hour ride I never once even thought about the helmet being on my head, and that is the best achievement of any performance product in my book!

[ As is typical of Bell helmets, this is a really good brain crate for road biking. It's light, fits and breathes well, even on the hottest of days, while being fully adjustable to fit with or without a skull cap. About the only thing that it falls short on is the straps are shorter than I 'd like, such that I only have about an inch of strap beyond the buckle and would prefer to see another 1- 2 inches for better adjustability. This seems to be Bell's new norm, after many years where their straps tended to be too long.

The Ignite is a great helmet. The shape and fit of the helmet works well with my headshape. A key feature for me is the integration of the helmet with Smith's sunglasses. Being able to stow glasses away in the vents and having confidence that they then wo n't fall out is a huge win in my book. I went through many combinations and returns before finding the Smith combination of helmet and glasses. My hope is that all future designs for both helmet and glasses have this key integration in mind. I 'm glad that I came up on the Smith brand.
